I have four by luck, and I make good use, but would love more. 1 = PC 2 = Phone 3 = POE on Wifi VLAN (for testing/configuring APs) 4 = Regular spare LAN port for laptop(s) We have Paxton on the door, so each of us has a green Exit button by our desk. Could do with one at the workbench area.

We had DDoS ongoing for 5-6 weeks last year, on Exa. I've not heard of this DDoS protection but it took between 10 minutes and 2 hours of phone calls to various support people to put a sinkhole in place on our (receiving) IP address to kill the DDoS each time. They didn't offer any automatic solution despite high-level letters between the two companies.

My house (3 Adults) typically runs 700w at rest. I've got a MacMini and a Zoostorm server running 24/7 - my project is to get the Zoostorm shutting down when we go to bed (I run Indigo HA so perfectly doable) then on again the next morning. Oh, and getting my Dad not to boot his PC at 8am when he gets a glass of water before returning upstairs for 2-2.5 hours, finally surfacing at around 10.30am earliest. He leaves it on 8am-11pm regardless.

Sorry, simultaneously posted with OP. @Jaan is the cert name JUST the servername (ie SvrPrint) or is it the FQDN (SvrPrint.myschool.local)? And are you browsing to the matching URL? (Our vmware cert is vsphereserver.myschool.local so I get ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID if I browse https://vsphereserver/somepage)

If OP is seeing this error in browser, then adding the cert to the local Trusted Root Cert Authority is correct action assuming the cert is actually correct. I believe you're referring to changing the cert issued by Papercut, which is indeed a custom store. However your first comment is the one I suspect will be the issue here.

Putting it in SOLUS doesn’t stop them acquiring the install files from another school and keeping multiple copies of SIMS up to date without paying their license fee. It has to be within the specific school’s install of it (ie stored into the database) / checked at runtime. I don’t get why anyone has a problem with how they’ve done it. It’s automatic if your firewall is configured appropriately; if that doesn’t work it asks one user for the key, once, when you access a specific statutory feature - not every time someone opens a register.

We only have half a dozen Apple TVs, on their own VLAN (possibly with the APs). Our old (retired but still operating) Ruckus Zonedirector does the bonjour gateway to allow staff iPads to see the TVs. We do need to find a replacement before I bin the Ruckus as we're now all UniFi. What we have instead of the TVs is https://www.airserver.com/ running on the PCs. Staff only fire it up when they want it, so the issue of "Finding yours out of 88 TVs" becomes "Find yours out of the maximum 10 running at any one time".

First of all, explanation of my network: To try and answer your network, everything looks correct that you've put. In DHCP do you have Scope Option 003 (Router) set to the SVI on VLAN 2. (ie mine is set to 192.168.7.254 being the VLAN IP address on VLAN 7) In HP is A2 tagged for VLAN 1 and untagged in VLAN 2? Peter

Now you're heading back towards my setup - I only use one internal interface on Smoothwall for the LAN, plus the external connection. Attached are screenshots of my VLAN setup on HP and Smoothwall. VLANs 1-15 are the wired LAN, with DHCP on a DC (.5.11) VLAN 90 is the APs. VLANs 91 upwards are various wifi SSIDs with DHCP running on Smoothwall. See if you can make sense of that and if it helps you.

Erm, don't tell me that!!! (For anyone else wondering, check SQL Management Studio > Connect to the SQL instance. At the top of the tree it will say eg "SERVER\INSTANCE (SQL Server 13.0.6300.2)" - 6300.2 is SP3, anything less is SP2) Just looked for the current Tech Roadmap but they've withdrawn the Autumn (Nov 2021) roadmap and are publishing Spring 2022 'shortly'.

The only DHCP related commands we have in our HP 5406 are the ip helper-address on each VLAN. vlan 7 name "Vlan_07" tagged A9-A20,C17-C18,F11-F12,Trk1-Trk3,Trk14-Trk15,Trk20 ip helper-address 192.168.5.11 ip address 192.168.7.254 255.255.255.0 exit Where are your DHCP scopes? On the Windows DNS? Is the DHCP server tagged in the new VLAN?

I upgraded ours over the weekend, and the SIMS client was able to successfully connect to the automated eligibility checker and pull down the key itself, so we didn't need to enter anything.

Yep, I'm following that thread TBH premises have taken over my data cabling and (as of this morning) might as well have taken over my AV installs, so I might as well give them my budget and let them go ahead - they obviously know more than I do about IT. Rant over.
