Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but hopefully someone can help or direct me elsewhere. This forum came up in my Google search and I'm amazed and a little annoyed I hadn't found it earlier. Looks like a gem of a place. Anyway, on with the question .... I volunteer at a local Community House a couple of days a week, and we have just moved to bigger premises. We had a meeting with the Department of Human Services Victoria yesterday and they now require us as part of our compliance to get some room booking software to be able to track the use of our seperate rooms. We need * Multiple rooms (currently 7) * Hourly blocks able to be booked * Colour coded for the use (why the dpt wants this I don't know, just to look pretty?) * Ability to generate a usage report that will give us the total number of hours booked per room and/or in total Department prefer web based. As it is a not for profit, there is no budget for this. So costs will need to be minimal - free even better. So far I've looked at https://www.classroombookings.com/ and have set up and tested this fine on my own domain. The not for profit does not have FTP access, so I may need to host it for them - which isn't a problem unless it starts to run into space and bandwidth. This app does not fit our needs however as it does not allow for the usage report to be generated. I've spoken with the developer on Twitter and he has suggested https://mrbs.sourceforge.io/. Which I am not familiar with and it seems a little more complicated to install. Hmm ... has anyone used this? Would they recommend it? Or would you recommend something else? The House has a WordPress website and I have been through the majority of the plugins available but none of them seem to fit our needs. Most will only allow you to book appointments, and you can't seem to book multiple appointments per day. Or they are designed for motels/bed breakfast and you can only book per night. Or they are untested and compatibility may be an issue with our version of WordPress. Can anyone make a recommendation or push me towards the right thread?

Hello EduGeek! We're delighted to be sponsoring the Educational Software forum for the next few months. Our company has two main products: the Room Booking System and Parents Evening System, each managing millions of bookings for schools worldwide. We focus on making easy to use high quality software that just works, which is why we're SIMS Technical Partners & Advanced Learning Partners. The Room Booking System is the market leading web based room & resource management system designed specifically for schools to manage the ever growing number of resources such as IT rooms, laptop trolleys, iPads, sports facilities & meeting rooms. It fully integrates with SIMS, Facility, Progresso and iSAMS so all timetable information (and cover for SIMS) is automatically synced. LDAP authentication and single sign-on are also supported meaning the system runs itself without any manual intervention. We offer a 30 day free trial at www.roombookingsystem.co.uk The Parents Evening System allows parents to book appointments with teachers online. Parents no longer need to rely on their child to make appointments or worry about their return slip getting lost at the bottom of the schoolbag. The system integrates with SIMS & Facility so the system knows exactly who teaches each child. The school can view reports of parent attendance and track which students haven't booked appointments. You can use the system for one live evening for free - apply at www.parentseveningsystem.co.uk Do you already use our software or have any questions? We'd love to hear from you - please post your comments/questions below and we'd be happy to answer them.

Hi, folks. I've no idea if such a thing exists, but here goes! I'm looking for an application which will allow the exam management folks in our school to book rooms/desks for pupils sitting exams. In my tiny mind.... There's a list of all of the pupils sitting exams There's a list of the available rooms, and how many desks are available. Staff can go into the calendar. 26/04/23 - create a slot for 09:00 to 11:00 called "Higher Maths" Add room 7 which has 10 available desks Drag/drop the relevant pupils into each of the available desks. Something like that, anyway. I'd looked at various room booking systems, but they only seem to book the room - not the people, so you're still jumping between spreadsheet and application. Is such a thing feasible? Oh - and ideally free. Or cheapish (Don't ask for much, do I?!)

can anyone tell me a way around this one, we currently have a moodle 2.2 install with MRBS. we have all our rooms set up and they are currently in use by staff. what we want to do is set it so NO ONE other than 'admin user' can add a booking outside of the 'max day' setting. i've found one or two threads on this but nothing about the moodle version, can anyone help?

Hi, Is it possible to stop people being able to book rooms that aren't free? Can we get rid of that tick box. Or if we untick the 'Automatically Allocate Room Bookings ' box, who does this go to? All administrators? And is it easy then to see if they are trying to book a room that is already booked? Thankyou!

Hello all, I'm looking for a quick solution for a Room Booking product. The school I work at current use Bromcom as their MIS. I haven't actually used Bromcom yet and just wondered if anyone could shed any light on what the Room Booking product is like? I have used http://www.schoolbooking.com in the past which I found excellent but would be interested to know what others thought of the Bromcom offering. Many thanks in advance.
