We have Meraki and it's not that cheap, to be honest. Most recent licences worked out at £28.21 and that covered each Ipad for six-years which is £4.70 a year. Not sure how that compares to others. We have Meraki switches and wifi so integrates well for us.

Normally I staple gun a message to the screen saying "this screen is broken and awaiting parts" never had one fall off yet ;-)

My schools are having to use Meet, Teams and Zoom as the services they need to contact all use different software. Internally they all use G-Suite services.

Self updates at all my sites, they release so may updates it's not practical to deploy new versions. I think our base installer is a few years old. Seems to update itself without issue on first run.

Our MDM wifi payload has this so will hopefully solve the issue.

We had G suite already setup but claimed the DFE funding to have office 365 setup, so should be fine.

We've just got staff to record themselves using Google Meet and present their screens so pupils see the teacher and the lesson. We created a new user in G-Suite created a folder and made that accessible to parents. Staff just move the finished videos into year group folders each day.

At one point a school asked me to find some replacement batteries for them, I tried and failed and then we binned them. They cost a fortune as well.

I'm having the same argument with one of my schools. We have Google meets already setup but one school is insisting they use Zoom. I'm not backing down..so probably be looking for a new job soon. This article was a timely reminder about the concerns I've already expressed to them.

You don't need to use apple configurator if you have the Ipads registered in DEP. Apple school manager will pass these straight to your MDM all you need to do is power on, you connect to the internet and they will pull down your profile and that's it. Agreed re apple school manager!!!

If you can manage everything via apple school manager and all the Ipads are registered with DEP it will make using any MDM a lot easier. We use Meraki but they're all much of a muchness as can only use what apple allow you to. Are her powerpoints filled with photos? Could they be compressed? Then if that all fails just explain the situation regarding the computer, perhaps they'll be more accepting of the situation.
