  1. Yes, when ordering just pass the company your enrollment number and you add their number into ASM. They just appear like magic then. They should also be able to do this retrospectively for you as well if you're lucky.
  2. Installing Microsoft Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) Published Date : 05 Sep 2012 Last Updated : 01 Mar 2023 Content Ref: TEC2831587 Should be able to access in rm.com
  3. Yes, you are the customer. The DFE is just paying the cost of the project on your behalf.
  4. We're gradually moving all my sites to the Office 365 Apps so they self-update. For us, it's less work as that's it job done forever.
  5. BT has confirmed nothing has changed there end, but so have the LA. BT has taken the device to another site and all works as expected there. BT are suggesting that the LA needs to reboot their firewall to see if that helps as they feel there is nothing more they can do to solve this.
  6. Much appreciated @TronXP as the problem came out of the blue, that's a possibility.
  7. Hi All, Wonder if any of you could suggest anything here? One of my schools is having an issue with the BT Auto Attendant. If anyone rings in and presses 2 to speak to the office, we can hear them, but they can't hear us. This happened out of the blue. We have run the BT Test and all tests pass successfully. BT are adamant the problem is with our network even though we have all their firewall rules in place and the BT test confirms this. If someone rings the school on the direct line number that doesn't use the auto attendant all works as expected. THe LA manage the firewall and they are adamant they've made no changes and I've followed everything I've been asked and we have all the phones on their own seperate IP range. Any help much appreciated.
  8. I've got three schools to do. As it's just a minor revision to a current version, rather than an upgrade of versions I'm hoping it will be just a simple process. Think standard procedure is to backup the papercut database etc and then perform the upgrade. https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/Upgrading#application-server-upgrade
  9. Same here users get an odd screen with no access to apps, few refreshes seemed to get it back for some users.
  10. Many happy hours were spent copying lines and lines of code from computer magazines just to watch a small dot move across a screen. Also playing track and field with a friend doing the 110 meters hurdles with him doing the sprinting and me pressing the space bar for the hurdles.

    BETT 2023

The whole thing is a mess. I've set myself for Friday and provided a few times slots, suppliers have emailed asking for meetings on days i'm not there. Add into that the constant emails etc!!!
  12. This is really a teaching and learning question as the hardware is very similar. Which set of tools is best suited for your staff to deliver lessons? Generally, only teachers are going to know that so would need to have some input on the choice, they would be the ones delivering the lessons. Might Help BETT is the obvious place to take a few staff so they can see for themselves.
  13. We've had hundreds of Dell AIO units and been 100% reliable for us.
  14. Can your current AV solution integrate into Office 365 and scan for these, saves having to worry about trying to get your own AV solution onto byod devices.
  15. We have Ricoh across all my sites and are pretty happy with them. When an engineer turns up onsite they are nearly always able to fix any issues on the first visit. We haven't chosen Ricoh on price, but for my schools, they have been the best overall solution when factoring in downtime, ease of use for staff, auto toner ordering, and a lot of things that won't show up on a comparison spreadsheet. On the odd occasion they can't get the device we requested quickly, they have loaned us other older models until the new one becomes available. There still seems to be very long lead times on some device post covid.
  16. If you open smart notebook you can manage the license and it should show you how many days left you have, or just use smart notebook basic on version 22 which is free, or your code might even work with that if you're lucky.
  17. @Wave9_Lee we were hoping to use our current WIFI provider through the KCS framework. From the link that @localzuk provided (thank you) KCS is listed for hardware, but not networking. I want to be 100% sure I'm doing the right things for my schools and want to go the direct award route. I'd appreciate your input as you clearly both have a good understanding of this.
  18. @localzuk we were planning on using this one, is this not approved as well? https://www.procurementservices.co.uk/media-hub/news/6-dfe-approved-frameworks
  19. We've done the same with Sofcat on another DFE-approved framework.
  20. Softcat is taking very good care of us with our CTC projects.
  21. The DFE spec is incredibly high. Unless you have cat6a cabling to all APs, and all APs and switches are multigigabit you wouldn't benefit. They will also upgrade fibre connections where appropriate, and consolidate smaller cabinets into larger cabinets. Every school that gets invited should gain something, unless you are a very lucky school already ;-)
  22. Microsoft says it has "rolled back a network change" it thinks may be linked to tens of thousands of worldwide users being unable to access its services, including Teams and Outlook. Downdetector, which tracks website outages, showed more than 5,000 people in the UK had reported the email service Outlook was inaccessible. Other services including Teams and Xbox Live were also reported as not working. Microsoft said it was "monitoring the service" as the change takes effect.
