Nope got the same answer. Ok I will pose the question a different way, if I have a Sophos or Fortigate firewall, I understand to get instant alerts and safeguarding protection, a web reporting add on is needed. Which web reporting providers tick the non-english language for safeguarding.

Hi all, I have been looking at the many firewalls on the market and their web filtering, more specifically their safeguarding alerts features. . Having talked to many manufacturers the option for safeguarding alerts in a foreign language is not available or currently in the pipeline for release next year. Are there options out there? Is using an english based language webfilter database only and blocking access to non-safesearch sites the only other solution? Any opinions are much appreciated! Darren

Ok so I am trying to do the what feels like the impossible migrate cisco core to juniper all live. I have been through the internet and support routes and I thought I had solved the issue but realised I had a return routing problem!! The Cisco core is connected with an interlink trunk and standby ips on the vlan with a gateway to the smoothwall. The plan which I thought was working was to transfer the vlan ip from the cisco and change L3 on the Cisco vlan to L2. I hit a problem where the Smoothwall would return the traffic to the second core instead of the first core. The return IP address on the Smoothwall would be the standby shared IP of the vlan on the cores. This caused a bootloop because the route on the second core states 0.0.0.0/0 go to core 1 (mgmt ip) so traffic went back and forth to the smoothwall. The traffic would go to core 2 even if originating from core 1, smoothwall conclude it is not their issue. Adjusting the gateway (next-hop) of the vlan on the smoothwall to go to ip address of the smothwall vlan on the juniper fixed this and adding routes to the cores allowed traffic . This will all work if the vlan concerned was not on migrated off the cisco as the routes entered send the traffic to the Juniper, so clients on the network If you are asking why I am doing this (because I am too! ) then the lead times of network equipment throws the best laid plans under the bus, which is where I am at. However the clients in the vlan connected on the cisco don't get return traffic as the routes entered for the vlan say to go to the juniper switch.. The network is all static routes

Afternoon, It has just been suggested that it would be wise to install Sophos on BYOD student devices as executables can be uploaded to 365 and then potentially down to a teachers account. Looking at Intune it is possible to deploy Sophos to BYOD devices. These staff devices have sophos. If I put a compliance policy that ensures that the devices have Intune, is that the problem to the solution. Anyone done this? or is the concern a valid point? Your opinions are very much valued! You just setup a batch file and the config in the same folder and run as a script. If you set it as available and not required staff can run this from software center and then when they ignore your emails to do it force the app as required. The problem is the install kills all office apps to run and staff can lose work.

Morning I have been asked to install Opayo from our deployment system. The software is not signed, and not an msi and the software provider does not reply to emails, so not a great start for installation. I see Sage are behind this so it explains a lot about enterprise grade software. As I we all do not have hours to investigate how to get software out are there other pay-by-link providers that anyone uses with or without software? Many Thanks! Darren

Thank you all! I can see the wood for the trees now! Indeed sending VLAN information from a CISCO switch to a Hyper-V switch is a non-starter indeed. Having learned cisco by being thrown in at the deep end, i reviewed some of the fundamentals and I am surprised that I have not wiped the VLAN database in 4 years, a refresh is overdue so an ideal time to drop VTP! Hello! I understand that the native vlan on a trunk is used to share VTP information. If setting up a Hyper-V server should the native vlan on the switchport be the management vlan of Hyper-V or should it be the same vlan as the management vlan for the switches. A couple of years ago we upgraded our servers to Hyper-Converged Servers and the install was done with a guru from the Netherlands and mentioned that the native port should be the management vlan, looking at the connected interface (as a trunk) sends but does not receive vtp information. Is it relevant though, as it is cisco proprietary method? As you see this is bugging me! Google cannot help Cheers Dazza
