  1. +1 for enviroelectronics. They'll take just about anything apart from fluorescent tubes. No charges, no minimum requirements for collection. They even provide free wheelie bins for you to store your WEEE in.
  2. I can't read his name badge clearly, but I think it says 'Simon' something. I also think this is the Tesco store he's visiting.
  3. Neither do I! I logged in as a local admin, checked that WiFi had fixed itself, then logged straight back out again. Rebooted several times since and WiFi is working without any problems...for now, at least. Edit: Actually, I also made sure that any overdue updates were installed before logging out.
  4. I don't know if it's relevant, but I've had several 240s brought to my attention this week that were either not connecting or showing limited connection. Either way, they weren't allowing users to log in using domain credentials. I found that simply logging in as local administrator was usually enough for the WiFi to kick in properly. Once or twice I had to turn WiFi off and on, too.
  5. Another satisfied Wave9 customer here.
  6. Is that a killer rabbit about to jump out on the cat from behind?
  7. Nice dress, and it’s suitable for all kinds of functions.
  8. Continuing yesterday’s theme, term finished at 2pm today so I’m home and sunning myself in the garden with this tasty beverage!
  9. (of bad) Tidings
  10. As well as thirsty, is this hot weather making anyone else really hungry? Maybe it's because I was awake quite a lot during the night, that my body thinks I've been depriving it of food for longer, but I've been ready for lunch since about 10.30. I've just polished off a peppered mackerel salad, with home-made coleslaw and two rounds of multi-grain bread and butter, followed by a banana, and I'm still hungry. I think I may need to indulge in one of the pastries in the staff room...
  11. Was it Tyler Durden?
  12. And, so that I can’t be accused of being regionalist… What’s the most popular name in the Liverpool phone book? A Hughes What’s the most popular double barrelled name in the Liverpool phone book? A Hughes-Lott
  13. And over the Pennines… A Yorkshireman goes to the vet. Yorkshireman: ”Ah think there’s summat up wi’ meh cat.” Vet: Is it a Tom? Yorkshireman: “Nay, lad. Ah browt it wi’ meh!”
  14. Made it home, finishing my 6th pint of water along the way. Checked the temperature (36), covered myself in sun lotion and took myself into the garden with this. Thankfully, in real life, it isn’t sideways so didn’t spill.
  15. I'm wwwaaaayyyy ahead of you on that one!
  16. Make that 5! I decided to walk, today, for that very reason. Not so sure that it was a good idea, now. It's only 1.5 miles cross-country, but still... I'll have to make sure I've got pint number 6 (or possibly 7) filled up for the journey.
  17. I'm currently on my 4th pint of water since 9am! (For me - not the servers!)
  18. You needed a hand to remember, eh?
  19. We had someone from 'Compliance' do a H&S check on our work stations, last year. Apart from recommending a larger desk, so that my monitor was a suitable distance away from me, he also liked the fact that I had the lights off and said that was better for me.
  20. I know what you mean, but it's accessible from the pavement so that people don't have to walk over the grass/dirt verge to sit on it. It also doesn't block the pavement as it would if it was against the wall facing the road. I think it's a good shout, personally. Now if it was against the wall and facing the wall...that would be really weird!
  21. Up here in the North of England, we have a free irrigation system available to the general public. It's called 'rain'. (That said, we certainly haven't seen as much of it over the last few weeks as usual.)
  22. I assume they mean the Primary Assessment Gateway, as opposed to Pupil Assessment Gateway.
  23. Then we'll do that in 10-years time; There's no compulsion to replace like for like. Would we have had these network improvements done if we'd had to pay for it? Not a chance! But seeing as someone else is footing the bill, we might as well make the most of it. Winning an all-expenses paid cruise around the world doesn't mean I can't go back camping in Wales next year! For the record - I've never won a cruise around the world.
