I have carried out the work around specified by Microsoft, which enabled the Solus Agent to be installed. I have also spoken to ESS who say that they are working on it!

I'm trying to import the KS2 results into SIMS using the CTF provided by the Primary Assessment Gateway. Initially the routine couldn't find the xml file although I had downloaded it. I contacted ESS who say it's because the filename is incorrect. They gave me a rough idea of the filename but said I should contact the DFE! I think that I have corrected that, however it now says Header information is missing, file can't be imported. Has anyone managed to import their data and have an idea on what might be missing. I am try to call the Gateway helpline but am stuck in a queue

I can now order 2 more devices. I was wondering about the Dynabook tablets. Do they have both forward and backward facing cameras? Also what ports do they have on them? I looked at the spec on the TechSource website but this is for the standard Dynabook not the cut down DFE offering.

I have updated remote laptops by exporting the updates and then running SIMSApplicationSetup.exe However, if there is a way to use Solus to do the remote updates I would be very interested. What exactly did you change in the Firewall rules? I have a GPO which sets these up so I wondered if I could add the exceptions to this?

Just found this tool and managed to import my usernames from AD. I used csv files as my spreadsheet had multiple sheets in it, which the tool didn't seem to like - it said the file was blank. The SIMS method still doesn't allow import to UDFs so this is the only way that I could see to do it. Thanks @matt40k

The instructions I got from Capita are: 1. Make sure the students do not have any attendance codes within the date range you would like to apply the Y code for 2. Navigate into Focus – Attendance – Exceptional Circumstance 3. Select New 4. Select a date range 5. Change group type from ‘Whole School’ to ‘Individual Students’ 6. Click search 7. Select the student you would like to apply this for, or alternatively, press and hold ‘Ctrl’ on your keyboard to select multiple students 8. Enter a description which is at the bottom of the screen 9. Click Apply 10. Ensure the information is all correct 11. Restart SIMS Not sure why you have to restart SIMS. Our Attendance Officer just went back into the register and could see that the changes had been made

I can't do that as the proxy is provided by SEGfL

I installed the Smartboard software some time ago and used the default for the proxy settings whereby it picks the proxy from the user settings. However, we are now changing our proxy server to user based filtering and it needs login information. I want to change the proxy within Smart software such that it uses a proxy that doesn't need the login information. I have looked in the registry and changed the ...\Smartboard software\ProxyInformation key to use the proxy that I require. However, the software doesn't seem to be picking this up. Does anyone know of any other settings that I can change to pick up the required proxy?

SCCM 2012 R2 console cannot connect to site database
Kaz77 replied to Kaz77's topic in Enterprise Software
No, it is on the main server - mistake I know but I didn't fully know what I was doing at the time -
Hi, I have been using SCCM fairly successfully but now cannot get the console to connect to the site database. I have looked in the smsAdminUI.log and found the following information [13, PID:7524][11/24/2015 10:57:12] :System.Management.ManagementException\r\nGeneric failure \r\n at System.Management.ManagementException.ThrowWithExtendedInfo(ManagementStatus errorCode) at System.Management.ManagementObjectCollection.ManagementObjectEnumerator.MoveNext() at Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider.WqlQueryEngine.WqlQueryResultsObject.d__0.MoveNext()\r\nManagementException details: instance of SMS_ExtendedStatus { Description = "Can't create instance of CSecuredSource for SMS_Site"; ErrorCode = 3250653696; File = "e:\\nts_sccm_release\\sms\\siteserver\\sdk_provider\\smsprov\\sspobjectquery.cpp"; Line = 2057; ObjectInfo = "SMS_Site"; Operation = "ExecQuery"; ParameterInfo = "SELECT * FROM SMS_Site WHERE SiteCode = 'STP'"; ProviderName = "WinMgmt"; SQLMessage = "[42000][6513][Microsoft] [sql Server]Failed to initialize the Common Language Runtime (CLR) v2.0.50727 due to memory pressure. I have looked at the memory usage of the server and this doesn't appear to be a problem. SQL is allocated 8GB of memory

I have an issue where drives which are mapped through GPP are not always showing as available when a user logs on. It appears to be totally random as to whether the drive mapping works. The DC is server 2008 R2 and the clients are Windows 7. Any ideas on where I can look to see what is happening?

I've used FastStone Photo resizer which you can point at a top level directory and it will resize all photos in the folders below. FastStone Photo Resizer - Powerful Image Converter/Resizer

Yes, I downloaded it yesterday. I have subsequently used your app for another laptop where the Solus3 agent install got stuck at Active. Thanks -

Just noticed @matt40ks comment. I did try the reset utility but that showed a smiley face so that didn't seem to be the issue
