I usually just watch through a web browser. You can also use an iPad/Android app to download and watch offline, if you like, but only while the films are available on MUBI. For example, if a film is labelled as ‘Leaving in 3 days’, you won’t be able to watch it a week later even if you’ve downloaded it. MUBI is great for exploring films you wouldn’t find on the more popular streaming sites (World Cinema, Arthouse, etc.). And 3 months for £1 is a bargain!

I can’t believe it’s only half-way through week 2!

Apparently, the 20 iPads we ordered in November won’t be available until February, now. We’ve been told we can swap to Windows secured/unsecured laptops/tablets. I’m thinking the Dell Latitude secured laptop would be one we could get out to the kids the quickest? Any other thoughts from anyone? We’re a KS2 only school and the children will be using them mostly to access resources on Seesaw.

Is there any way to enforce DNS settings on iPadOS 14 using Mosyle Manager that would apply regardless of network?

Is there still an issue getting hold of iPads? We ordered our allocation at the beginning of December and we've still received nothing. The head has just mentioned that the BBC is trying to supply devices from charity. Anyone else know anything about this?

Dang it! I was thinking of going to visit family in Hereford over the holiday (outside, of course) as we were both in Tier 2. It's good news that they have moved up (down?) to Tier 1, really.

I see that the delay has been requested in order for rapid test administration training to take place. I was hoping it was a general, 'Let's extend the school holiday by a week or two because of increased exposure over Christmas.' In fact, I think that a condition of the 5-day Christmas lapse should have been that it would be followed by a 4-week hard lockdown, like the first one.

I want one of those!!

@VeryPC supplies us with TechGear G Shock cases, when we buy our iPads. They're chunky but easy to hold and have protected many a dropped iPad from damage over the last 3 years. They do have a flip-out stand, but these can be removed simply by unclipping them. I keep them in a separate box so they can be requested when students are doing things like stop-motion animation.

I'm sorry to hear that, @elsiegee40. I've edited my post to emphasise that it is directed at @mikeprice and that I am not suggesting that anybody without symptoms shouldn't get tested (Is that right? Too many double negatives?) The article to which I referred pointed out that hundreds (if not thousands) of people in Liverpool took the test as part of the 'moonshot' programme and received a negative result, even though they actually did have the virus. They took the result as gospel and then went on to spread the virus as they had been told that they weren't infected.

I don't see the point in you getting tested, @mikeprice, unless you are showing symptoms, to be honest. There was a good article in Private Eye about how the rapid testing isn't accurate enough to provide a true picture of infection - giving too many false positives and, more importantly, missing too many real positives - and wasn't intended for the use to which the government has put it.

I was waiting for @Jawloms to post it again tomorrow...and the day after...etc Anyway, the last film I saw was A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence (MUBI) A series of vignettes of episodes in the lives of interconnected characters and places. Darkly comic, tragic, surreal... and utterly brilliant!

That reminds me of a school visit to WWT's Martin Mere, a few years ago, who had a live stream from their beaver house, which children were invited to watch when they got home. I interjected quickly, telling the Year 4 children to make sure that they searched for 'Martin Mere' and NOT 'Beaver Cam'!

Have the computers been deployed from an image? If so, make a note of the computers that are connected and check over the next few days whether the same ones show in WSUS. I had an issue a couple of years ago when cloned computers had the same SUSID. EDIT: @Koldov posted the solution to my problem while I was typing my reply.
