Strange they are taking so long to get back to you. Don't know if you could use the Microsoft Online Concierge service to find out if your case has been looked at as they might be waiting for you to contact them

I've found the support to be slow normally about 3 days to get assigned an engineer but once you have engineer it seems to be there job to get you sorted as quick as possible. They even asked me if I was able to work late as they could to resolve the issue.

You need to have a transparent proxy setup then programs will work as if it had direct connection to internet. Whoever provides your filtering should be able to do it . I know Netsweeper and Smoothwall both have option.

I had the same issue , just by chance or luck I thought I would rename the machine and treat it as new machines with S3 removed before rename and then once I added it to S3 all picked up and installed.

I'm using 3.5 with no issues and I have managed update all the clients from 3.4 to 3.5 except on that turned out to be the person thinking the message was asking them to reboot during deployment then it got confused so just uninstalled from machine and removed from GUI then treated it as new machine and it went on fine.

This is also what we informed teachers to and solved the issue before we went to SOLUS 3

We are looking at Nationwide (not the bank but a cashless option) They have a finger print scan that is converted in to a pin so then you can use that pin for things like library system and in our case follow me printing with pin release/fingerprint release so you only have to register the students once and any parents that don't want students finger to be scanned can be issues with manual pin code. I would ask them what optional extras they would recommend as we had Cunninghams give us a bare bones quote then everything was extra which made the price go up . Are they supplying all the hardware or do they expect you to provide machine or server access for their software. Will it run on its own network ? or be added to existing school network? do you have network points at existing tills ? do you require UPS in-case of power out so you can still sell food ?

Glennda you are correct. I had assumed if version 5.0 worked that 5.1 would fine as it would be minor upgrade so no need to check but lesson has been learnt

Also to make people aware to correct hardware is compatible as I have found you upgrade a HP DL380 G5 you get lovely pink halt screen. My G7 servers are fine so for the future my G5 server will stay on 5.0.1 which supports Windows Server 2012 and the VMware tools seem to be ok as well.

It's was the homepage I believe as the my files only has one entry to map home directory using the variable . I believe issue issue would be with the recursive group lookup due to way we have groups inside groups. Let me know if you would like me to trial any versions of v9

After setting local logon rights now get to page that say Error: Unauthorised Access You have attempted to access a restricted resource I'm now lost to where the permissions are being checked as if give a student membership to teachers group they work but don't see what teachers have permission wise more than students. If remove student groups and just have membership to domain users also works , just don't know what has been set in the students group to denied access to user area.

This is the first time it has been install and setup.I'm having issue with students logging in . When they try it just hangs on logon screen with no error then timeouts. Staff and administrators both work fine which leads me to believe its a permissions issue. We currently have a students group with has each year group as member and then students are a member of the year groups, so in the setup I add the student active directory group as the HAP student group. I have seen a post about logon rights as student required for server the web server or file server(which is also domain controller) or both ? , could this also be the cause ?

You use exmerge to make the pst's for each user,use ExMerge to run stage 1 of a two-stage ExMerge procedure to export all mailbox data to a .pst file on a shared network drive. Make sure you have enough space as our emails came out to be about 90 gig .Delete current mailboxes , reinstall new exchange server with trust, create new empty mailboxes under new exchange, import pst's to empty mailboxes.Job done.

I agree with the exmerge way to go as easier and attaching the pst is really easy when accounts have same username.

Also have PARS machines with 5 year warrenty and had a couple DOA but other than that they have caused no problems .

We have half and half , I have work experience students in 3 - 4 times a year and find building pc's in house a great addition to their learning plan , as for quality control we make sure to watch over them and make them extra cautious about handling components but once trained can build about 8 machines a day fully including image . They learn and become confident about building pc's and we get someone to make them for free over 2 weeks.

I've got a hitachi sms 100 san and i found it easy to setup with the quick install guide , you need a windows machine to install the software that comes with it , this allows you to create , size and name the drives. once you have done the drive setup you can connect an ESXi server to it and with vsphere client (free to download) configure the storage target. you don't need a managed switch. i've got my server direct connected to one of the ports on the SAN , you can use all four ports ie 3 direct connected servers and one connection to network to allow use of vsphere client , if you want to connect more you will need a managed switch. on the server i used a 192.168 range for the direct connection with fixed IP , on the network port I've just allowed it to use DHCP and all seems to be happy at moment.
