We've had snow at least one day a week for the last 4 weeks I think here uuuuuuup North. A fair cm - not enough to close schools. My wife keeps shouting at me for my handbrake turns into the drive. In her car. Kids love it.

Recommend me a small footprint eco printer for classroom use
XiJ replied to speckytecky's topic in Hardware
They are doing great - we use original inks. I always will. Seen too many printer fail with compatibles. Just installing 2 new Wf-5110's as we speak. One is DOA though! -
The red bull seems to be for testing only? Seems a good attempt to hide interesting bodywork / aero devices. Not sure it will fool the really clever guys at rival teams though. Merc looks quick already....

200 hours. That's what our licensing partner says and I understand from MS

I love the look of this. They reckon it's a different class to last years! Hope so for their sake.

Print them? *face palm*

So far I've just set it to go over the Christmas holidays. Still a LOT of data to go. I'm going to try it at the weekends / maybe nightly and pause it during the school week. We have our regular backup system so this is extra. Once the main data is uploaded the rest will be small potatoes.

Me too! I think mine had a slightly faulty blade motor. Then my ham-fistedness broke a wire. Then my frustration and anger broke the 2nd wire (like a petulant child). My father in law is going to 'fix the whole problem for me' My 3 and 4 year old did go through Christmas without any tantrums though!!

Another myth debunked. I did use Trim enabler way back when. And the MBP with ssd flies. Love it!

Way before I read any of this I upgraded my MacBook Pro with a samsung 840 pro in and it works just fine. And has done so for a while now.

Anyone with Schools Broadband?
XiJ replied to Wubbalubbadub's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Been updated with plenty of e-mails today which I really appreciate. Also Carl in tech support helped me out yesterday (wish we could have had some training in the Fortigate / light speed system rather learn as we go though) Been really impressed with SB last few weeks -
I have users who would LOVE that. We could ditch parallels too

Had this on 3 or 4 of the 8 connected AP's in a school we installed in. All the same side of the school and I put it down to some weird power spike / surge but that was a bit of guess work All had green light showing physically but weren't showing as connected in the controller and clients couldn't connect. My solution was to pull the Ethernet plug and reboot them that way.

I'll have some non-new 160gb but That's about it. Happy to look if interested.

I found it incredibly easy with Win 2012. I'll post some links soon that talked you through each step.

Before I had tried it / had the knowledge we used to install a new server from scratch. Man I'm glad those days are long gone. What server os are you running on the old / new server?

Anyone with Schools Broadband?
XiJ replied to Wubbalubbadub's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I thought the communication - both pre and post upgrade was very good. As someone who only visits school once a week I warned the it co-ord that worst case some users will only have pupil access (mainly the Mac users where they are standalone laptops). I've had no complaints though. I do think that during the half term break would have been better - but this could be different for each area of the country. And it wouldn't have made much difference in schools who only have term time tech visits. I'm pleased with the way SB have handled this. -
That's something I think a lot of people don't understand....or gloss over. With tightly knit software/hardware you don't need the latest and greatest power sapping hardware. So when a processor in another phone is .01ghz faster, it doesn't really matter

BBC News - One Dead In Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo Test Crash

Space flight is dangerous. But every boys dream? (And some girls maybe!) is love to do it. -
Gonna check my schools - could be very handy for backup.

iPhone case and in car holder recommendations needed!
XiJ replied to samba_man's topic in General Chat
The Brodit car mounts are brilliant. Normally a few models for naked, thin case and thicker case. I had a slider case for my 4S. I forget who makes em tho -
That's what's on the file I have - along with some other bits.
