+1 to that, it got me set up with WDS. The only problems I encountered were injecting network card drivers but I've mastered that now.

I'd also convert them to ISO with DVD Decrypter. You could save a bit of space by converting them to AVI.

Yes, we had this problem with every new account we created. I think its an XP SP3 issue. Our network is 2003. To get around it this year with all the new Y7s I just modified the group policy to allow them to change their own passwords.

While mooching through a box of spares on Friday I came across an old Jetdirect card that failed in 2007. I'd been recently reading a site which talked about sticking them in the oven to fix the dry joint which is usually the problem. And hey presto, it only went and worked! Half an hour in the electric oven at 175 degrees and it works perfectly!

Its an 80 mile round trip on the motorway at peak periods where it is impossible to do more than 50 mph. As stated above, I've done around 20,000 miles and its barely missed a beat. Other than whats listed above I've replaced an exhaust bracket and water temperature sensor. As I'm completely dependent on it for work (2.5 hour commute by public transport!) I've kept it meticulously serviced. But now its passed the 100k threshold I want to replace it with something a little larger (was a tad small for camping with four people for a week earlier this year) and with less mileage, probably a Focus diesel with the heated front screen, just to make the commute a little more bearable in Winter. I'm not sure of the going rate, they seem to vary greatly, so I'll say £1900 ONO. It's not the top of the range GLX model, but the next one down, so its very comfortable (the armrests are a godsend!) and in lovely condition. Its also got roof bars and a Sony bluetooth stereo, but I'll probably remove the stereo and re-fit the standard Peugeot one. I'll wash it and grab some pics this weekend.

The GPS is amazing. Quick to fire up and get your location. And if you use it inconjunction with the Android version of "Wheresthepath" a wonderful replacement for a full GPS (assuming you have a 3G signal where you are!)

The forum recommends NCKCODES for unlocking online for $3, although a thread appeared a couple of days ago about a website offering a free unlock calculator. Whether you trust them with a random website with your IMEI number though is another matter.

At first I wasn't getting a full day, but that was while I had everything turned on and was on it constantly. Now the fad is wearing off and I'm not on it all the time about 3-4 days.

I got around to removing my Orange apps today. Was quite simple: 1) Download and install the Android SDK. (You'll do this anyway for the USB drivers) 2) Go to a command prompt 3) Navigate to the TOOLS folder in the Android SDK install 4) Type ADB REMOUNT (Enables write access to the phone) 5) Type ADB SHELL (You'll now be in a Linux shell on your phone) 6) Type SU (to give root access) 7) Type CD system 8) Type CD apps 9) Type LS (this will give you a listing of all apps installed) 9) Type RM 10) Type REBOOT

It's not too bad, there's about half a dozen apps. You only lose Orange Wednesdays, Orange Store, a mapping prog (Google maps or OS lite is better anyway), web browser (again, go with Dolphin or Opera) and a text messaging app (Handcent is a great replacement). There are three options, you can use Sebastian404's de-orangeated ROM. Or the Modaco custom ROM. Or simply "root" the phone, mount it in Linux and then remove the apps manually. You can actually re-install the Orange apps if you like. The Modaco custom ROM now includes Apps2SD, which allows you to install apps to the SD card rather than the phone's memory. Get a class 4 or higher card though. (About £20 for a 16Gb Kingston card).
