  1. You haven't bought the license, you bought the hardware. License is always required of running Smart on any other interactive hardware
  2. If it's no longer than 10m then the Visual TechConnect USB 10m booster cable will work fine
  3. It'll work but you know you will need to buy a Smart Notebook license to be legally allowed to run it?
  4. Is it possible to setup 2 Mac Server running Profile manager using a single Apple VPP account? We have two schools who both already have a mac and it would be good to tie them into one VPP account. TIA
  5. Is Location Services enabled?
  6. If you went with the newer EB-470 then the holes match up a little for the wall bracket so it can be a quick job to switch out
  7. I did read the link but it does say this shouldn't be done in a large environment due to the error rate you will have.
  8. Most RAID controllers will have software which will run on Windows and give you this info. Do you know what server it is or what RAID controller it is?
  9. This isn't correct unless Unify have started to copy Meru. Zero handoff does not need the APs to be on the same channel and really they should not be. Ideally 1,6,11 on the 2.4Ghz range Only Meru (from the big players) do SCA (single channel architecture), everyone else does MCA (multi channel architecture).
  10. I don't see why. All you do for SIMS is point to the SQL or client. The same will apply for when hosted with Captia. You'll just have to update the systems to point to the new location
  11. We have had devices bought through AT registered in DEP for us by Toucan/Goldfinch
  12. Someone told me the other day that Lightspeed does not filter based on content in the site. Is this correct? They used the statement to suggest Smoothwall was better. We used Lightspeed through SchoolBroandband and a few customers have onsite Rockets but I've never looked at content filtering.
  13. Sounds like it already has a 2016 key on. Can you run slmgr /dlv all to see if one exist?
  14. Rogue device?
  15. Another DHCP server somewhere?
  16. Thanks. You'll be one of the providers coming in so I hope you conform to it!
  17. In working with one of our schools to procure an Internet service for their existing school and new free school being built. Is there a document somewhere, or can someone share something they might have that lays out what we should be looking for? We know the basics and the more details bits but putting it on paper is proving difficult as different people in the school have different ideas. It would be good if there was a document that stated things like the firewall must support X, Y and Z etc. TIA
  18. You can get it from adobes ftp site: ftp://ftp.adobe.com It's listed under Reader
  19. Going back to my original question, as not all the schools use SchoolsBroadband yet. How would I install a device so it is not behind a NAT. Would I need to use another port on the router so it has an Internet facing IP?
  20. Thanks Dave, I'll drop Support an email and get them on it.
  21. Server IP should not be the same as anything but on same subnet as router. So if router on 192.168.1.1 then server can go on 192.168.1.2. DNS should be set to same as server IP and then the Forwarder set in DNS server manager to point to ISP DNS
  22. Why won't he. I've put it on loads of Macs and on each one we use a different schools Apple ID.
  23. We are looking at creating a DC in Azure which to connect to we need to have a Site-to-Site VPN. The MS tech articles state that the VPN device must have a internet facing IP and not be located behind a NAT. Now I know what NAT is but how would I go about installing the VPN device so it is not behind one? And on a different note, @SchoolsBroadband can we use the Fortinet firewalls to establish a Site-to-Site direct to Azure without the need to buy additional hardware?
  24. I've got it in my Dropbox I can share with you. PM me your address and I will
  25. You say it crashes when setting up notifications, but isn't it when just settings up the email setting themselves? If so try doing it without sending the test email? If that still doesn't work it is possible to set the email setiings via the SQL tools rather than through DPM console
