What is the best Alternative to Norton Ghost for PXE boot imaging?
snagrat replied to Carter's topic in O/S Deployment
Not sure why Sysprep would be a problem. Use it with MDT and you can have a fully automated deployment solution -
Create a csv with username and password - no csv headers. Username is without the @DomAin bit. In EasyMail admin go to bulk upload users. Select Csv and then you choose the headers which will be username and password. Ensure you select to modify users and to work instantly. If more than 25 users you need to split it into multiple goes Good luck!
-
Who controls the DNS records? Do you have access to be able to amend them?
-
You can bulk change passwords. When I do these migrations I decide when it will happen and change all the users password at the same time
-
They shouldn't be allowed to install other apps though, only the ones you assign to them
-
They can still be separate within a single tenant but more config is required. Depends on what the future play of the trust is.
-
A tenancy is just the account really. Assuming these schools are completely separate and not part of a MAT then each would have its own tenancy. For a primary you may as well go Cloud only. Most schools are cloud and would enable you to get rid of the Exchange box completely.

I'm not sure where super scopes will come into play here? Just redesign your VLAN so it becomes a /23 subnet (assuming it is /24 now)
-
Folder redirection will redirect wherever you tell it to.....but one setting is to redirect to the users home directory so just set it that
-
Use folder redirection to redirect Documents to the server. Then they can't save to the local documents. No need to create the My Pictures etc and it happen automatically.
-
Why couldn't you? The manual installer just runs a batch so assuming you can get it to run silently then it'll be fine wouldn't it? Assuming you have added the PC before hand then it should just connect up to the machine already known in the Solus server

Smart notebook with CTouch & Genee interactive boards
snagrat replied to boomish's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
So if buying a new third party device to replace a smartboard, but the license for the device you are getting rid of! -
Have you spoke to their support? Previously when I've had SSO issue with them they have enabled verbose logging and get some better logs. That said that was related to CDM so not sure if they can do the same with Office
-
How much?!! With Hybrid you need to ensure Autodiscover and Outlook Anywhere is configure correctly. You also need SSL. Cutover is a lot easier but SSL is still required although I always use a free trial certificate to do it.

[mdt] Update Windows 10 Gold Image - MS updates?
snagrat replied to kennysarmy's topic in O/S Deployment
[oQUOTE=Julian;1459301]You may need to run the Office rearm tool before running sysprep. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\OSPPREARM.EXE" Warning this application can only be run 3 times, make a snapshot before use, and revert to the snapshot after finishing sysprep. My limited understanding is that this acts as sysprep for office, so that each copy of office has its own GUID, which is required if you are using a Office KMS server. Isn't MDT 2013 U2 Office aware so it will rearm the product for you? I know previous versions didn't but I thought latest did -
Folder security issues after rebuilding file server

Can you take ownership of the all the folders? -
Done many Office 365 setups and every time when I verify the .sch.uk domain it automatically approves you as a EDU customer and away you go. Done two today and both are still in trial mode. These were both done via the new preview centre. Anyone else had this? Do I just wait for someone at MS to manually approve it or do I have to take it up with billing support?
-
I'm now trying to picture what I saw it as and can't! It's obvious now you have pointed it out (in red)
-
Right saw this on FB and thought it was a joke as looking at it for ages. Now you have posted it I just be missing something - please put me out of my misery

Apple DEP - Awaiting final configuration

Worked when iPad was on the same network as the Mac but not when remote. -
Are you doing this through the Exchange Admin Centre?
-
During the migration process just select the encryption as none and it will still connect for you. I've done loads of EasyMail to Office 365 migrations without any problems

Office 365 - How do you separate teachers and students

Well Sharepoint is built on permissions so if the Pupils don't have permission to see the site then they won't be able to. Similar to Delve. Delve will only show documents the user has permission to see - it won't just so all the staff files.
