Some Apple TVs we have installed are not showing up when selecting AirPlay on an iOS device. The Apple TVs are not activated (due to proxy not being set) and not getting a time set. Would this affect it? I am planning on using a Mac to set the proxy and have asked for the Time server ports to be opened on the firewall. Our Wifi is Ruckus, nothing setup strange and a flat network.

This is an option. We will use Office 365 for some bits but not everything. At another school of mine (a Microsoft Showcase School) we found the OneDrive for Business client not great. Lots of sync issues when we decided to move everything to Sharepoint sites. In the end everything went back to local server shares. Windows 10 is an option, but a long way off yet.

Smaller schools are about 4 classrooms. Others have more but a faster line. Main thing is AD replication and logon, as a lot of our data is going to OneDrive. 10meg leased line at some of the schools will cost around £10k per year. So I don't think this is currently cost effective.

Our academy is starting to grow and we now have 8 schools. Currently each has its own domain and no school is linked in any way. However we want that to change. We the ability so anyone can login to any school and retrieve their data or data from shared drives. Question is how to do it? Some schools only operate on a 4meg ADSL line and lease lines in these areas are expensive. I am toying with the idea of a single forest with sub domains in each school. However will a 4meg ADSL link support this? What does everyone think?

Lightspeed will allow you to authenticate with GAFE without GADS or SSO. Then you can create rules on Lightspeed to query users/group that are in GAFE

I have a number of schools complain today that they are unable to insert attachments in OWA with Office 365. Has anyone else seen this today, or know of a change that may have affected it?

I have been asked to install a FMS Reporting Suite License patch. The instruction that came with it suggests putting the file into the setups folder and running dbattach to apply the upgrade. However we are using Solus3. So a) Do I still have to manually apply this patch? b) If I do, do I do it as suggested or another way?

Can you do it from the other server? I know in 2008 you can open PMC and connect to another server and do the same operation.

Did them all myself from SMS all the way to 2012 R2. Generally they went Ok but if you hit a snag it can be tricky to resolve.

Can you open mmc and inport the PMC module into that?

I have this filtering issue with both SWGfL and Schools Broadband Basically you can search for "sex" on both Google and Bing. If you look at images, although not nude, the results are not appropriate for pupils. It was discovered when a pupil searched for "string" and looked at the images. Another issue I have is with Lightspeed (via Schools Broadband) is that searching directly on Bing will allow you to block search keywords. However if you go to bing, then image and then try searching it will not block the search. Can anyone confirm this is an issue with them as well?

Do anyone have a good list for Blocked Search Keywords for Lightspeed? I was hoping to find something on the net but am struggling. I could create a list myself but am just trying to save time

Not sure it ticks all your boxes but have a look at ScreenConnect. We use it and it does the job. Has an iPad app as well so can remotely manage PCs from that

We use Mirasys for our hikvision cameras. Very good software, but not the cheapest.

Lots of features missing, and do not include the BeamFlex technology. But still very good for small businesses, just not education I would say.

Interesting to see how long Unifi will go on for. That would be my main concern over the leaders like Ruckus, Arubu and Meru. Although Meru might be the first to go...

Have you tried building PC with Win7 disk to make sure this isn't a hardware issue?
