I've came across that page before, unfortunately it doesn't give me any info on how to get into the Call Barring tables for our system.

Morning all, We've been seeing issues with dialing out to 0345 numbers on our BT Meridian office phone system. Now considering the system itself is older than I am (No, I'm not kidding) BT will no longer support it and we are struggling to find how to fix this issue in the manual. Does anyone here know how to unblock or allow outgoing calls to 0345 numbers through the BT Merridian system? My google-fu has failed me on this one.

Are you running any kind of WSUS system? If so, it should list in there any installed updates to your server.

I'm about to kiss you! Pasted my script in here and instantly noticed something. In the script I was pointing it at an admin share rather than the public version of the same folder. Someone get me a beer!

Login Scripts (along with other GPO's applied) is marked with success. Script is 100% in Computer Configuration - I've been that daft before so learnt from that one. It's been a long time since something so straight forward has baffled me so hard. Genuinely stumped. Thanks for your help by the way - I appreciate this is straightforward for most, but I'm just so confused with why it's not working.

Not sure what this is supposed to show me? The policy is displayed in there yes - am I missing something? Yep - No difference Yep done that too I swear someone is messing with me today because there is literally nothing in the event viewer. Like - am I going crazy?!

I've tried both - MSI through the Software Deployment in GPO and .exe through a startup Script in GPO (not at the same time obviously). The folder security has Domain Computers set to read and execute so I don't get why it would be a permissions issue - although I agree that's what it looks like.

Currently using a .exe with the script mentioned, however the .msi I was trying earlier via Software Install in the GPO was direct from the tightvnc.vom website

Yes the Script will install the software and the Reg preferences when ran from an Admin account. I've tried the MSI as a software install via the GPO and I still get nothing.

Me again! Today I'm having a real hair pulling issue. I feel like I've put everything in the correct place but the system still won't pull together. Basically, I want to install TightVNC across our network using a start-up script via GPO. I had followed This Guide from FN-GM word for word and it still just doesn't work! I have: Created a share @ \\servername\Software$\GPO Applications\TightVNC where domain computers have access to read and execute. Installed TightVNC to a test machine, set up the settings I would like and exported the registry to the above share. Put the .msi installer into the above share. Copied the script in the link above, replacing their locations with ours and saving it as a .bat into the above share. Put the script into a GPO applied to the OU containing my test machines. gpupdate /force on the test machines and reboot multiple times to pull the software. And what happens? Diddly squat. I'm so confused right now it hurts - Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I second this - The guy who originally created it is perfectly capable of bringing it up to scratch, but the only way he would agree to it is if he did it full time. Can't say I blame him, he's doing 2 peoples jobs as it is.

I'm a little skeptical on what i'm about to say here but the last IT guy has told me when they asked for a price to re-write the code it was going to be somewhere around the £85k-£90k mark. As a business with a profit turnover of £250,000 a year that's a pretty big chunk to be saving for. I'm going to try and learn a little bit more about the ins and outs of the program and then go about getting quotes from freelancers myself. I don't think it should be anything like the £90k price point i've been told.

Wow - Thanks for that. Didn't actually realize this was the case. We can have up to 15 people using it at once, so a TS is pretty much out of the question. I think it's just going to be a case of using VM's to be honest, just wanted to see if anyone else had any clever ideas. Thanks all, but I think that the VM solution is going to be the only way right now. We simply can't afford to have it rewritten yet.

As a pre-warning, I don't work in education. Not sure if that is a big issue or not but hey-ho. Morning all, This one has been a huge issue since before I started this job, and now that I'm here it's taken to a whole new level. Basically, our old IT guy ( who was a jack of all trades it seems, he now runs the production line) wrote a rather large 16bit program in Superbase about 10 years ago. Now being perfectly honest, I don't know exactly what the program does, it apparently integrates with Sage somewhere along the lines and tracks how much steel we have on site for manufacturing. I'm sure it does a lot more than that, but I don't really care about the intricacies of it so long as it works. The issue I have is that we are slowly moving away from x32 machines and onto x64 machines. The 16bit software is simply not supported for x64 versions of Windows. So far my solution has been installing a VM onto the machines that require it and getting extra Licenses from VLSC which I don't really want to do (Only 3 machines so far, but still...). The company has approached different coders beforehand and asked for the project to be moved to work on x32 machines, but they were quoted ridiculous amounts of money because of how long it would take and the amount of coding required. So my question is, does anyone know of a way to get x16 software to run on x64 machines?
