Hi there Does anyone know if it is possible by group policy to turn off all notification sounds without having to turn off notifications entirely? The constant ping is annoying teachers...

We have completed our migration from Exchange 2010 to Office365. We have been asked by the School Governors if the can have a notification only to there personal email address when they receive a school email. I've looked at setting rules or a transport rule but it doesn't seem to be possible this way. Has anybody been asked the same question or know of a solution. Thanks for any help.

When trying to change the notifications for a specific teams channel, the option is not appearing for some reason. Myself and another colleague have looked into this an we're out of ideas. All the instructions online seem to point to the same option to change, but the option doesn't appear for us. Instructions from Microsoft below. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/manage-notifications-in-teams-1cc31834-5fe5-412b-8edb-43fecc78413d?ui=en-us&rs=en-gb&ad=gb#bkmk_changechannellist Any ideas with this? Is there something simple we are missing?

Hi Everyone, We recently started using SIMS to take registers, and I would like to automate the "Missing Register Notification" tool that can be added to the homepage so that 10 mins into each lesson if the staff member has not taken their register they get a notification in SIMS to remind them. I far as I can see the tool requires you to manually select all the teacher that have outstanding registers and then send them the message. This is ok if you are doing it once at the end of the day but I need it to do it 10 mins into each lesson 5 times a day. To make matters a bit more complex our lessons start a slight odd times during the day which means that the notifications would need to be issued at 09:10, 10:10, 11:25, 12:30 and 14:50 Thanks

Hi Guys, just wondered if anyone has come across this before. Im running DPM 2012r2, everything is set up and working, ie protection groups are set up and succesfully backing up my servers, no critical errors. The next step is to set up the notifications and this is where im having issues. So i go to options, i enter my SMTP details and enter an email address to send the test email too. Click send test email and get the following error Connection to the DPM service has been lost. Review the application event log for information about a possible service shutdown. Verify that the following services are not disabled: DPM DPM Replication Agent SQLAgent$mssqlserver MSSQL$mssqlserver Virtual Disk Service Volume Shadow Copy ID: 917 I have checked the services and they are all running. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: Service started successfully. the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table To me, these messages are just telling me what i already know, that the application is crashing. I tried running the DPMSync command as this was suggested in another forum but this hasnt worked. Its only crashing when trying to set up notifications, everything else appears to be working fine Any help would be greatly appreciated -Vicky IT Tech at Sir Christopher Hatton Academy

Got a few machines here that notification bar wasn't working, others with same problem but also affecting Search and others affecting Start Menu as well? It's all random but all error's pointing to faulting module name : kernelbase.dll, Event ID 1000, tried to copy a new kernelbase over but will not allow me to, tried SFC, tried fixing apps not working troubleshooting. Was told this command fixes notifications - "Get-AppxPackage | % { Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppxManifest.xml" -verbose }" Tried it on mine as notifications wasn't working, now all 3 don't work and I basically don't have much hair left! Support say, fresh install I have attached the event viewerSearch & Notificatins Error.7z log. Any help will be gratefully received. TIA

Hello, anyone got any good methods to disable all windows 10 system sounds via GPO? I have tried reg file from web: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\ @=".None" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Names\.None] @="@mmres.dll,-801" this works but sets the scheme as 'No Sounds (modified)' and leaves a number of sounds still enabled. Thanks
