In MDT right click "DeploymentShares" and "Open Deployment Share" Type the server name and share in to the old deployment share (i.e \\Server-old\DeploymentShare$) It may need to be upgraded via the wizard They then both appear in MDT. Expand all the folders then simply drag the OS image from one Operating System folder to the other. And it'll copy it across

What have you ordered? We went with Cisco Meraki MS350-24X in all the schools we have done and these are generally all in stock. This means all the cabling and switch infrastructure can be installed along side the old WiFi. Then it’s a quick swap out of AP when they arrive. The APs aren’t however. MX46 and MX86 but we have been told 90days for these. Why has it taken you so long to do this? If this is the third phase offering then invoicing should be next financial year.

If the old share is still available then just add it into MDT as another deployment share. Then you can just pick up the OS and drag it into your new DeploymentShare.

Still 5 months yet so I wouldn’t be panicking yet. Also has you supplier asked for Meraki to part ship? They won’t usually ship until everything is in. We’ve done a few of these CtC now and we have all the switches installed but just waiting on the APs, so the job will be completed very quickly once they arrive

As long as you do the procurement to your normal rules then who you choose doesn’t matter. As long as their solution for-fills the technical spec

I managed to sort this. It was an incorrect EntryID. Once set correctly, and waiting 5 mins, it worked.

Get the provider who you go with to provide training. The costs will be covered by the DfE. The Cisco Meraki stuff is dead easy so very little to actually learn

Or update driver on device? I’ve seen issues with devices not detecting Wifi6 APs but do see others

Initially we are enforcing MFA for all cloud apps, with no Trusted IPs. I may have to experiment but do not have access to all types of hardware. Just wondered for example how iOS Mail app would behave when we enable MFA. Does the account need removing and re-adding or does it just give a password prompt with MFA follow up?

Due to enable MFA for Office 365 using Conditional Access. Currently users will be accessing email via a number of desktop or phone apps. I wondered how these will behave when MFA is forced on?

Does anyone know if GAM will allow us to populate Classrooms either by individual commands or uploading CSV? To clarify we will not be pulling MIS info as the school want a different structure so the populating will be manual. Although we can get the Teachers to add the students they appear to have to approve the request via email first which we want to stop for the Students.

The SSL certificate is best applied at the root as you want it on every device. Show us the NoProxy GPO settings and we can check it for you.

Unless they are using Teams Phone System which is included in A5. Although A3 + PBX add on is cheaper than A5

It is but you haven’t proved the GPO is actually deploying have you? It the certificate is installed by the GPO and you still have issues then we can troubleshoot that.

Turn the SSL off then on the transparent side and it’ll work. But if you want the SSL interception then you will need to proxy or use a different VLAN

Although you have imported into GPO is the certificate actually installed on the machine? Non domain laptops will not get the certificate via the server. It will need manually installing or they need to access the internet with SSL disabled.

If you have a Mac you can do it yourself with Apple Configurator

I’m surprised the DfE will approve the Cambium switches as they do not fit the specification requirements. The APs will however but I would be pushing for the XV3-8. The Cisco kit is the best option but the switches themselves are 600mm deep so no chance of going in a wall mounted cabinet. We are pushing for a complete rewire at a number of schools we support so the cabinet locations can be moved to floor level and a 800mm deep floor standing cabinet

Cat6A should be installed to the APs as per the funding available.

We use Printix with Papercut. Printix handles the deployment of the print Queue and then Papercut lives on a server hosted in Azure. We also have an AD in Azure which everything syncs to.

The switches I will need to install may be £3k+ so won’t be putting any silent fans in to void the warranty

Anyone used an Acoustic wall mounted data cabinet? If so, how well did it work. With PoE switches becoming more noisy some areas we need to place them are in classroom or office and so the noise needs to be heavily reduced
