Not sure what you mean by OneDrive only working in Office? We have it installed and within seconds it logs in and is available without any issues and access through the usual Explorer. Hiding C: is possible via the registry and causes us no issues at login.

I’ve got a couple of School Broadband customers who should be on a 1Gb/1Gb leased line. However speeds tests vary from 400-800 on the download and upload. Sometimes the upload will hit the 900 mark. The results are very similar when plugged directly into the router bypassing any local traffic. Can someone with the same connection run a test and see what results they get? TIA

I want to change the VLAN IP address to another one within the same subnet. However GUI doesn’t allow me and CLI says there is an existing interface with the same subnet. Only the management VLAN has an IP address. I am try to change it from .230 to .247 with the subnet staying on 255.255.255.128. Anyone got any ideas how I can change it without visiting the switch and using the terminal?

I have inherited a system that had SDS setup last year. Teams wasn’t really used so I’m not worried about the data but would be good to understand the process. I have created the CSVs and am ready to import but have some questions: 1) Do I just upload the new CSVs into the existing profile, or should I create a new profile 2) What happens to the Teams in the current Profile? Will they auto Archive when the profile expires? 3) If I have a mistake in a CSV with a username does SDS feed this back as an error? I’m hoping any user errors will not stop the process from starting and I can simply fix the CSV and re-upload. Think that’s its for now.

We have Teachers using Surface Pro and TAs using Surface Gos. If a Teacher ever go near a Go, they moan how slow they are!

A3 includes the desktop apps. However you would need to license everyone with A3 who you wanted to use these apps.

You say the server name and share names are the same as the old? In which case, why do you have to do anything? When I migrate I ensure the names do not change and then everything just continues to work

Which is fine if you can still g at hold of them. Not sure Microsoft are making many more

I work with a school that does this. It’s not a very cheap option. The licensing costs make it expensive. They originally paid for a third part Attendant system but I don’t think they really use this. What exactly do you want to know?

I can’t comment on Google, as all my schools opted for Office 365. I haven’t heard of them supporting for a year, but I imagine the partners will “be there” if there are any issues or questions. I believe the maximum amount is £1500 per school. Or £1000 if part of a MAT, up to £10,000. I have supported a MAT with 14 schools so the partner got the £10k. For this they did: - created a landing page (looks generic, built by Microsoft and just imported) - Uploaded the SDS files - Created Teams policies. - Provided 2 hours training per school (which Trust have confirmed was rubbish) I did: - Created 4000 users from Arbor/SIMS into AD, set all attributes and passwords - Configured PowerShell scripts to license, set the Teams policies and other per school/year specific requirements as per the Trusts request. - Arrange DfE Demonstrator training with a local Microsoft Partner school. £10k for the work they did was a joke. I got paid about £300 for what I did, and could have completed their side for any extra £300 probably

I’ve had to give the O365 Admin details, well created one for them and the disabled it when they are completed. They need this to be able to do anything really.

We’re a small MSP but have been involved in over 15 schools with this. That is because the appointed partner isn’t allowed to do some stuff so the schools ask us to. Apparently they are not allowed to extract the data from MIS, edit AADConnect or even touch the school server. Most Partners seem to want to do Cloud only accounts as quickly as possible and get the job signed off and paid. I have been working with all the schools to ensure AD is synced with passwords and then we can apply custom policies based on a number of AD attributes.

If it’s all one tenant then they will not classes as guests. Guests are only when crossing tenancies, not domains.

He didn’t say Intune was DEP - he said it was similar! From a Microsoft point of view Intune is kind of DEP, actually AutoPilot is more the feature of Intune that will auto provision a device exactly like DEP does for iPads. I agree Intune is horrible for iPads, but it does work. And it can be very cheap to manage 1000s of devices

Are all those models available now? The Lenovo 300e, for example, I have been told that these will not be available until Sept at the earliest.
