Schools Broadband - Service Credit for Outage
snagrat replied to Wubbalubbadub's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Which Wagent version is that? I got .21 sent to me the other day for a customer -
Sounds like you have not added the DC as the DNS address. You can’t have DNS pointing directly to Google in a domain.

Netsweeper with Schools Broadband

Few reports here. Must be Netsweeper as my nofilter devices seem OK -
Ultimately everyone budget will be different depending on what priority the school has. I work in many schools and I see Trusts who simply will not buy a £300 projector as they apparently can not afford it. Yet on the other scale I work in a Primary with 420 pupils who will spend over £200k per year on IT.

Is your Google Play working correctly on the Chromebooks now? I’m still getting reports it is not but wanted to see if anyone else is still having the issue. -
VLANs would help if you have them?

I thought this was firewall rather than filter? We had to add ports to get it working as we allow it

I have the Edition Upgrade working. Upgrades from Pro to Education and activates with MAK

Would be interested in your Printer Map script

Yes that’s what I have followed and it is working except for it is connecting to the wrong domain. Still playing with the domains try to get them to link

Has anyone got Papercut syncing with AzureAD? I’ve got the LDAPS side working but this seems to be connecting to an empty domain. My problem is probably more linked to my Secure LDAP setup rather than Papercut. The online Microsoft guides I am following seem to be around creating a new AzureAD when really I want to use the current one I have for Office 365. Has anyone done this?

How much is Securly costing everyone? We were quoted it as part of a tender process and for 1000 users it was very expensive

Clearing down student laptops for Home use

If you set them up in Intune using AutoPilot you could use AutoPilot Reset to wipe the device at any time and allow it to auto enrol back in as a managed device -
Fujitsu did us a very competitive S2D quote. Are you actually looking for competitive pricing or just getting 3 quotes to keep the governors happy? What spec are you looking for?

I don’t suppose anyone have firmware for the AP121 of 6.5r3 or newer. We are trying to move to the Cloud IQ but 4 of our APs need to be upgraded first. AeroHive are being awkward as we do not have support for these units.

Use Shared Computer Activation then. It’s even a tick box in Intune when you deploy Office. -

Not sure why you need DBA. Regardless of licensing agreement the users should be able to have a ProPlus license. Then Office just auto activated when they are logged in via their AAD account. This is how we use it. We are 1:1 pretty much but still works if we roam between devices. The policy sync is rubbish but not too bad if you can specify devices to be for certain year groups etc where the policy is the same regardless who logs on. It’s only when you want different settings where you need to wait. -

Autopilot is more for new devices, which would have the drivers on the shipped image. -

For us we use Netsweeper that can authenticate against AAD. -

Have you got any more info? Was it a filter or firewall change? Has this been changed for all customers? -

@SchoolsBroadband are you aware of these issues with the PlayStore on Chromebooks -

So did it work if firewall was completely open but still going via the filter? Or did you need to have both completely open? I could open the firewall fully for the Chromebooks as long as they were still filtered.
