Mme LeMarchand has been away caring for an elderly relative, so I'm a bit behind and have only managed the first eps of: Secret Invasion. So far, so meh. The Skrulls live where they can show they're true form apart from the main cast members? I hope that the on screen deaths aren't permanent for a couple of characters. Strange New Worlds S2. For some reason I felt this was the strongest episode yet. The Witcher S3. At last they've got Geralt's wig right! (Or he's got extensions or maybe even grown/died his hair). Plus the fight scenes worked a lot better. A strong start to the season. Was a bit odd seeing Robbie Amell in something this big-budget, though.

Extraction 2 (Netflix) Tyler Rake, having somehow survived his fall from a bridge at the end of the first movie, is given a new mission by Alcott (idris Elba) that has a personal element. In just six weeks, he manages to montage himself back to full strength before heading to a Georgian prison... If you liked the first movie, you'll like this one. Maybe I was in just the right mood, but I found this to be one of the best-paced action films I've seen in a long time, even though it's basically three long sequences spread over a couple of hours. You will have to fight wondering why the kid is so stupid (did he like living in a prison cell?) and why another character thought they'd still be well off if the bad guy's empire collapsed and, most of all, who's funding all these weapons, transports and medical care. Idris turns up at the end to set up Extraction 3; I'm wondering if he's going to be the Nick Fury of the Netflix Universe.

Cost of living crisis 2022 - what have you cut back on?
LeMarchand replied to Ditto's topic in General Chat
"Simple" Facial Wash has doubled in price and guess the difference between the bottle of Comfort I bought a few weeks ago and the one I bought last week. Clue: It's not the price. -
Have you ever wondered what a film made by Seth RogEn and one of the writers of "Crazy Rich Asians" would be like? Wonder no more. RED BAND TRAILER HIGHLY NSFW

Not a fan of Zuck or Musk, but if you're going to fire a load of staff with no notice and then tell the rest they'll have to work a lot harder then don't be surprised if they start working for a rival. Is Signal working properly now? We tried a year or two back and messages seemed to take hours (or days) to deliver.

If you watch The Mandalorian or The Expanse you have already seen Mr + Mrs Kim in guest spots. Kimchi also gets around a bit. Re Aussie shows, if you enjoy "cosy" crime they have a few OK ones.

I wasn't as impressed, though I'd rank it third: 1,2,5,3,4. For some reason "Last Crusade" never did it for me; maybe I should give it another go. I felt the new one was overly long with action sequences that needed cutting down and Harrison Ford (understandably) seemed pretty creaky. I was impressed by the de-ageing CGI; less so by the subsequent laughable shot of Indy's first train-top sprint. The film started strongly, looking "real" enough for me to wonder if we would get this sort of spectacle again but then descended into CG murk. Still, Phoebe Waller-Bridge was fun and the ending did warm my heart. P.S. Given today's "cancel culture" that leaps on anything that the self-appointed guardians of moral outrage perceive as an offence, how the heck did they get away with bringing back the world's Welshest Egyptian?

Good grief!

I'm waiting to hear back to see if following: https://kb.netsupportsoftware.com/knowledge-base/what-are-the-fqdns-for-classroom-clouds-servers/ has helped with the problems we've been having (not LGFL). The teacher can broadcast but not supervise. Did you use to have a winhttp proxy set? I know I forgot to disable ours on some of our servers when we went to our new firewall.

If you have the authority to do so, why not set the desktops to read-only to prevent people from saving there? If it was up to me, I'd enforce a desktop wallpaper as well.

I thought wpad was/was being deprecated due to security concerns?

When we used a proxy.pac the laptops defaulted to "direct" if they were unable to connect to it. As a consequence we never did anything "special" to allow staff to connect at home. You could test by hotspotting one to your phone.

Boss Level (Prime) Entertaining time loop actioner. Not a classic but if, like me, you've had it on your list but wondered if it was worth the effort I'd say you should give it a go.

Finished Westworld. Although it was one of those that sets up a load of things and then realises that they can't come up with anything that will live up to the set up, I'm glad I stuck with it. Not sure it all made sense, and the time jumps were an unnecessary complication. S4 actually gave Bernard something to do (and Stubbs!) and Caleb got to do something other than look vaguely confused and wasted. Poor Dolores got that role in most of the season. Although they'd hoped for another season, the wrap up, whilst not the planned ending, actually works quite well. Also Silo S1. Started brilliantly and then, as suspected, had a few episodes of padding until the ending. The ending was a bit of a surprise, though. Will probably watch S2, but wouldn't be in tears if they changed their mind.

Are you using the pre-populated start menu links similar to the below? These seem to default to the web version (why charge once when you can keep charging monthly?). Try scrolling down the alphabetical links and launching from there.

It's not just new rules. Many people fail to grasp basics such as speed limits* or indicating. *Or choose to ignore them until they see a speed camera.

Tl;dw. Got a précis?

Now on S4, and that is probably the case, but I wish they'd calm down on the timey wimey stuff. S4 started off badly, but fortunately picked up in the third episode. Just 4 eps left...

Westworld Season 3. Not as strong as the first twp seasons. They seemed to struggle to give everyone something to do. I'm also not sure what the heck was going on with William as the post-credits scene to S2 seems to have been forgotten. Seconded.

[ipad] iPads on Mosyle not installing or updating apps
LeMarchand replied to OverWorked's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Also, as we've had similar problems recently, if it's the "apps not updating" problem try hotspotting to your phone. Whilst ours set up fine, we were having all sorts of problems that went away when not using the school's firewall (Fortinet). After a lot of back and forth we are now getting the apps fairly successfully deployed/updated. The problem seems to have been some of the (many!) necessary Apple urls weren't getting through. Not convinced Mosyle's system is the best for accurate reporting, but we're on the free plan so can't complain too much!
