BETT 2017 - travel and transport questions and alerts
AJWhite1970 replied to CAM's topic in BETT 2026
You are looking for these. The one at Custom House for example is at the top of the bridge on the right as it narrows and heads towards the Excel. -
Whats your focus this year at BETT and what stands are you hitting?

Cashless catering solutions but it must integrate with TASC Insight Student self service registration for sixth form LRC software as an alternative to MLS TASC PARS Something better than SCOPAY and if it integrates with Insight then all the better Pizza about midday Some free pens and as much junk as I can physically carry back on the train First time for a couple of years I've had a real shopping list, could be fun!! -

Four seats at the front mate, we can share duties -
You can click on the number to the right of the poll responses to get a list (no I didn't know that either until elseegee40 pointed it out to me once...)

Shhh, you've just blown one of the best kept secrets of going to BETT. Now I won't be able to sit at the front and pretend I'm driving..... -
Alice through the Looking Glass. Awful film that I didn't even have the pleasure of falling asleep through so had to suffer it for the full 2 hours...

Our temporary portacabins that were installed in 1964 met an untimely end last summer. They are missed by no-one.. -
Yup, I only have one email address, I like to use an email account I administer myself. The problem with setting an alias address on the school account is that some then send to admin@ the same domain when it bounces back... Just created a throwaway mail.com account. Mildly annoying but I'll kill it as soon as the badge arrives....

I like a few on here always like to carry two badges, one being my real one for stuff I'm interested in and one for the wand warriors who leap out at you from all angles as you walk round.. However, is it just me or is this not possible this year as the badges have to be sent to a real email address? I could easily setup a throwaway account but before I do that am I missing a trick? Am I the only one thinking that this thread plus the WitchHug thread is pointing towards potentially the most entertaining BETT for years

Both my kids did that book for GCSE. Also the 1968 film Charley is a tough watch...

I've setup a lunchtime running club with a few of the support staff. Three times a week we do a 4.5k lap of town not going above 8m/km pace by doing 60s running/60s walking the whole way round. There are a couple who have never run before and are finding that pace comfortable enough without needing Oxygen and a defib whereas those of us who are a bit fitter are enjoying the gentle jog and the fresh air outside of school

Batman vs Superman Thankfully I fell asleep after about 30 minutes, by all accounts I didn't miss much...

The TFL route planner is still showing Custom House as open until at least the first week of Feb. Anyone remember the problems when that entire line was closed one weekend of BETT, was that 2 or 3 years ago now..? -
Static here on the switch with an entry in DHCP as well just to stop any potential duplicates

My mini wire haired Dachshund qualifies for Crufts every year (and all the fun and expense that entails) and she is insured with Tesco. Not had any issues with them thus far when we've needed vets etc.

All our email distribution lists are unrestricted for staff but heavily moderated and restricted for students. We went through some tough love staff training about 3 years ago regarding using the distribution lists and apart from one member of staff who insisted on replying to any all staff email with a pun sent back to all staff (I disabled their account a few times now although since their written warning they have stopped doing it...) our distribution lists are used properly 99% of the time. We also have a "For Sale" distribution list but you only get "caravan for sale" emails if you have emailed me to opt-in to the list. You would be amazed of the rubbish that's on that list though...

I've got 5 ICT suites (three generic suites, one specialist lab for DT and one full of integrated Casio keyboards for music) plus three laptop trolleys (16,16,32). Room utilisation is just under 90% with maths, geography, history, MFL and politics being major users of the suites which can be booked 4 weeks in advance. Apart from a ten week ICT induction in year 7 (taught by me) we don't offer Computing at GCSE or A level but my head wouldn't be without IT and is always complimentary as to how it's run and integrated into the curriculum. Thankfully no danger here of loosing any suites but I feel the pain of those who are being forced down that route. Andrew
