Happy Christmas everyone. Up early and had the horses turned out by 8am before breakfast with OH's family at 10am. Now sat chilling catching up with The Grand Tour until my daughter turns up for dinner about 6ish. Best present so far? Tim Peake's book.

Thank you to everyone who came to the first (of hopefully many) EduBytes South/Central/Kent meeting. A really enjoyable day where we started talking shop, went on to family and pets, had some lunch, covered death and taxes before going back to talking shop and swapping funny tales (although no-one IMHO beat the dead nuns problem ...) Couldn't agree more with the comments to integrate with other teams and departments. Teachers aren't that bad once you get to know them and if you have a PE department like ours, the PE team are a riot inside and outside work. You'll meet them soon anyway when they hand in a laptop/netbook/camera/video/printer in more pieces than it went out with....

AFAIK the travellers coming in by train are aiming to arrive at the station about 12:30 but I'll be here from about 11 anyway. Turn into the main car park and if the barrier is down wait there until I let you in as I'll have a cctv camera on. If you do bypass our elaborate security park on the left and I'm in the old chapel on the right which should be the only building with lights on.

For the last couple of weeks I've run 4k every day during my lunch break. Been trying to run level 7mins/km pace which I can comfortably do. A chest infection isn't helping with the breathing though....

I had a massive argument with our local VI team about this. PC mirroring is fine until the teacher freezes the projector and then does something else while the class are working potentially mirroring confidential information to the student. I won the argument and our VI students have the lesson notes emailed to them in PDF format BEFORE the lesson and they use their iPad to open and magnify the notes. Been doing it this way for 2 years now and works really well.

Good idea, I'll give SWGfL a ring and see what they suggest...

Morning all It looks like I need to create a SOCKS server on-site as the terminal above only support that as a proxy rather than our preferred http. How can I best go about this and keep it secure? I don't have a smoothwall or anything useful at the site where this is although it is behind SWGfL, just standard Microsoft stuff. I've tried Worldpay and also Ingencio who make it without success... All suggestions welcome Cheers Andrew
