Really close to finishing my Windows 10 build, have most things customised now including getting rid of that horrible sad face user badge on the login screens However, although not mission critical, the "other user" wording on the login screen is annoying me Anyone know how to get rid of that or change the wording to say "Enter Username"? I can't find it anywhere so I suspect it's in a dll file somewhere? Thanks Andrew

We've never used a VLE!! For file sharing, staff have a direct drive mapping to a departmental share on our IIS webserver and we use the index.php script from Encode Explorer to display the files. We are giving serious consideration to moving from MLS to Koha. The site up the road from us uses it and they have 25000 users over 10 sites and the librarians are very happy with it (also happens to be my old site so I know many of the people who implemented it and use it...) We use Canon EOS 1200D's, a good compromise between price, build and image quality. All have survived over a year intact, even the one in the PE department!!!

As the title says, I'm looking for some software to take timelapse images from an IP camera to produce a video of a new build that's going to start in the summer. Lots of threads on here about using webcams (chronolapse et al) but nothing I can see using IP cameras. In an ideal world I'd like to take the feed from one of our cctv cameras that's pointing in the right direction... Any suggestions gratefully recieved Thanks as always Andrew

LOL, timesync.nlm was the biggest pain in the ar$e known to man, only had to be slightly off and everything fell apart. I got into a routine of running dstrace=+s to see which server had lost it's time, repair the time with dsrepair, unload and reload timesync and then run dstrace=*h to force DS back into sync. I still miss it now, at least Netware told you what was wrong rather than AD throwing a strop and not giving you any clues

Never mind, solved with some ladders, scaffolding and a laser pen duct taped to the receiver to realign it

Does anyone have one of the above I can pick their brains over? After 10 years of never missing a beat I suspect the builders have knocked one of the receivers but I have no info on the setup and no idea what/how to get at any management software to check alignment. Cheers Andrew

Wow, 3.11, the last version with a flat bindery before the introduction of directory service in v 4.0. We also used 1-2-3 but used Wordperfect 2 for the word processor (with the cut out shortcut banner balanced above the function keys) Happy days

My first major job was migrating 30 servers from Netware 4.11 to 5.0 (and rapidly after that to the more stable 5.1) along with Zenworks 2 and Groupwise 5.0 on 1500 Windows XP workstations. I was and I suppose still am a Master Certified Novell Engineer (MCNE) and a Certified Novell Instructor (CNI) although it's been about 10 years since I was that proficient and about 7 years since I last used Netware in anger....

Novell is no more, part of the Micro Focus family these days. Netware, Groupwise, Zenworks all great products in their time

I was about to say Elonex but I'm amazed to see they are still going. I had hundreds of their PC's and servers about 20 years ago and used to enjoy watching Wimbledon games from their "executive" box from time to time...

We were having exactly the same conversation on Friday as we all feel Windows 7 isn't right at the moment even with SSD's and 4Gb of RAM, in the last couple of weeks it just feels sluggish. As we are migrating to Windows 10 in the summer not sure if it's worth spending time investigating fully or not. Will be interested to see what this thread throws up through
