  1. Petrol Shortages? I think you've been listening to the goverment too much and there excuses on green tax. One of my close friends works for shell and his job is to find new oil deposits in Africa (one of 4 on the team), and he tells me there is enough fuel to last well over another 100 years, and we keep getting told there is only 20, 30 years worth left and its all lies. Now who would you believe the goverment or the people who actually find, refine and sell the stuff?
  2. But i'm Quackers
  3. It looks very sexy.
  4. With these centrally managed systems, what happens if the central controller fails? Does the whole WLAN fail, and then cost £££ for a new controller? Leaving you with no Wireless Network at all? Instead of many access points simply configured individually then if that fails its only 1 small area without coverage and is cheap to fix?
  5. I think putting the AP in the trolley is a bad idea, one reason for example say you have 4 trolleys, with 2 AP on each one on G Band, so you have Trolley 1 - Channel 1 & 6 Trolley 2 - Channel 6 & 11 Trolley 3 - Channel 1 & 11 Trolley 4 - Channel 1 & 11 What happens if you have 2 class rooms next to each other or close and one has trolley 1 and one has trolley 4? Your going to have poor performance because the two channel 1's will interfear with each other. If you had Trolley 3 and 2 Channel 11 will interfear and you will have poor performance again. If you put an infrastructure in that covers the whole school you can set the channels so they are least likely to interfear. We have all our AP's set like that broadcasting on G and A band, then on each trolley the first 50% are set to A band as the priority AP, then the rest as G band as the priority. With Super Mode turned on with A Band, and Supermode without Turbo turned on G band, and they perform like a dream, still quick with loads laptops in one area.
  6. We run almost 200 Laptops of our D-Link 7100AP's with fantastic performance, have you configured them correctly as they are great. We cover the whole school with them.
  7. Is your meal paid for when in school?
  8. I'm using the Google Web Master Tools and it seems to be reading the site OK. The site has been up and running for over a year. Its jooma 1.0 not 1.5 does it still have these Web Crawler settings in?
  9. Site is Chesterton Community Sports College - Home is the site. So when Chesterton Community Sports College is entered in google we come last
  10. How do we make our School Web Page appear higher up in the search results? I've changed the Meta Data on our Joomla site to have our school name in (2 days ago, as it said "Joomla! The home ......," before) If you type our school name in we currently appear last on the first page of results. A bebo page the kids setup is first (which SMT do not like), then other county documents with our name in. Can you pay to have one of those Sponsored Links before the search results at the very top? If so how? I've tried reading googles site for information and non of it makes sense, its confusing me

    Windows XP SP4

I cannot find it, but i remember many years ago a paused video shot of nasa running NT 4 Service Pack 7. It had it in the bottom corner of the screen like beta versions of Windows and Service Packs do.

    Windows XP SP4

I'm sure they said Service Pack 3 would be the last, but with the big backlash against Vista making XP be the longest mainstream version of Windows yet i personally think it would be irresponsible of Microsoft not to release a service pack 4. Maybe they will have a change of mind.
  13. I've had this happen twice this in last 2 months on other peoples PC's both times it was AVG8 for some reason. I could use the direct IP , but the www address would not work. If it has AVG on remove it and it should work again. If it has not got AVG on, i do not know!
  14. Have you been taking drugs? My mate works for IBM and has about 4 of these thinkpads, says they are the worst laptop in the world and would never use his own money to buy one. Plus they look like they were built in 1982
  15. Do you mean PARS? If so explain the situation to the tech support, they are the best i've ever used of any company. If there is an issue they will have it fixed dead fast. I'm not on that patch yet, so i'll keep clear if your having issues.
  16. We have an ISA Server 2000 box that we use only as a proxy for kids internet. We now have a Sharepoint box, as well as our Exchange Server box, now they are on different public IP's. If i put multiple network cards in the ISA box, and set each network card to a public IP, can i publish these services through ISA with out having to change any other configuration, having a single sign on. I want to use the Sharepoint Outlook Web Access web parts, but you have to publish it through ISA to stop it coming up with the username and password box on loadup.

    Windows 7

I agree, XP's was a step forward. Now with the Vista one, they have so many things on it, its become cluttered and hard to use
  18. If you put this in a batch file and create a hidden share, then add it as a user logon script in group policy. echo DATE: %date% TIME: %time% USER: %username% COMPUTER: %computername% CLIENTNAME: %clientname% LOGONSERVER: %logonserver% ACTION: Logon >> \\planet\logs$\logons.log echo DATE: %date% TIME: %time% USER: %username% COMPUTER: %computername% CLIENTNAME: %clientname% LOGONSERVER: %logonserver% ACTION: Logon >> \\planet\logs$\computers\%computername%.log echo DATE: %date% TIME: %time% USER: %username% COMPUTER: %computername% CLIENTNAME: %clientname% LOGONSERVER: %logonserver% ACTION: Logon >> \\planet\logs$\users\%username%.log
  19. Thanks, DS MOD is doing the trick great!
  20. The link from ful56_uk is making my eyes bleed . I've had a go, but it just errors when i alter things in the example code. Cannot belive how difficult things are to do with VBS, cannot find Group to Group examples anywhere...
  21. We use file permissions to allow access to a specific area on the local hard disk. We want to timer this by adding "Domain Users" to the group which has access to the folder.
  22. I want to put on a timer the adding of a group to a group in active directory. Easy i thought, i'll use the NET GROUP command. In a batch file, so i try NET GROUP "GROUP 1" "GROUP 2" / ADD It says no such user as it thinks i'm trying to add a user to a group. How can i achive this with a script?
  23. Is it Orange branded firmware then? If so first thing i would do is change product code of phone so it picks up generic firmware. Orange are the worst for ruining Nokia phones with there branding, they made my N80 useless until i flashed it to the generic firmware and bang, phone worked as Nokia intended not Orange.
  24. Hard reset: 1. Switch off the phone. 2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button. 3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone. 4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen. It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers!
  25. Not seen that, i'll look incase somebody else has the issue.
