  1. Just as an FYI - Any links to forum posts link to this page and not to the forum post itself example here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/promethean-direct-support/147074-activinspire-slow-startup.html
  2. Hi kidpressingbuttons, Do you know what software you are looking to get the licence key from? Is it ActivPrimary? ActivStudio or ActivInspire? Thank you
  3. Hi All, This issue is still with our development team to be resolved. As soon as we have any update we will post them on here. Thank you
  4. Hi Leics_Tech, I suspect that this isn't a board issue, Google tells me that this affects quite a number of machines, and products (not just Promethean boards). Have a look in your power settings for USB selective suspend, and disable it. Additionally there maybe a BIOS setting as well for USB power related settings. If you are still continuing to see the issue you can contact our support team via PrometheanKB and they will be able to assist you further/ recommend anything. Thank you
  5. Hi cgott42, I'm not sure what to link to to be honest ) The Wireless connectivity upgrade can be purchased by contacting your reseller, or Promethean direct (in the US), you need to ask about the "Wireless upgrade for a 300 Standard board". The cable that Promethean have tested and knows works is the Cables2Go part number 29341 (www.cables2go.com) this was tested a number of years ago. However Cables2Go recommend part number: 29338, which Promethean have not tested. It is your choice ultimately which route and which cable to purcahse and use. The support for these third party cables lies with Cables2Go and not Promethean. Thank you
  6. Hi All, To clear this up: The board that cgott42 has mentioned (AbV387S300) is an entry level 300 series board, this board does not contain an amplifier, speakers or PSU and interactivity is solely powered via USB. There is a PSU that can be purchased for this board (to allow wireless connectivity) which co-incidentally would be the best solution; as well as an amplifier and speaker upgrade. The 300PRO boards already include the Amplifier, speakers and a PSU - However these boards can be interactive without the need for the PSU, as interactivity is powered via USB, you will simply not get any audio if you do not have the power connected or the amplifier turned off. The 500PRO boards already include the Amplifier, speakers and a PSU - However these boards need to have BOTH USB and PSU connected and active in order to be interactive. If you are set on using a extended cabling setup Promethean's stance and advice for computers that are placed further away than the supplied cabling cabling is documented on our KB: PrometheanKB (articles 10414, and 10440). Thank you
  7. Hi Rin1487, I'm not sure that this is a question that should sit in the Promethean Direct forums of EduGeek. We only offer support for Promethean products and services. You might want to post this question on the main EduGeek forum page. Thank you
  8. Hi pete, I have linked to the network install guide for ActivInspire. Which should hopefully help you. https://promethean.box.com/s/9qud9fzy9zw9z21pea1k I can confirm that all versions of ActivInspire are the same, and nothing has changed from an installation perspective, so there would be nothing we have done that would cause the issue you are seeing. Thank you Thank you
  9. Hi Gareth, Apologies for the delay in responding to this one, we didn't receive our normal notification for some reason. This is a profile thing, and can be set per user. The folder that gets amended when you set the desired look and feel is: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Promethean\ActivInspire It could be that any changes that are being made are being refreshed by some network profile and reverting them back. Hope this helps.
  10. Hi Ben, I have amended the permissions on the links. Please try again ) Thank you
  11. Hi benhen31, This issue is something we are aware of, and is with our development team to be looked into for a future version. The links for the 5.7 driver are below: 32 bit: https://promethean.box.com/s/c1x3nbcora39jv3cw8sr 64bit: https://promethean.box.com/s/acu3ekh5oo59c8yijpax Thank you
  12. Hi Harry1980, That sounds like the perfect example of a lamp starting to come to the end of its life. The lamp replace warning light is simply based on a timer and not the physical condition of the lamp. I would recommend contacting Promethean Support with the serial number of the projector, they will be able to verify warranty. Before doing this however it would be good if you could borrow a known working lamp from another projector of the same model, as support will ask this question first. Thank you
  13. Hi ehartley7, The way to do this would be add the command: ADDLOCAL="ALL" to the msiexec command. This will install the USB and Serial components onto the machine. Thank you
  14. Hi Roughley0, The latest ActivInspire and ActivDriver for 64bit os can be downloaded from Free Teaching Resources, Lesson Plans & Worksheets In regards to firmware updates, that would depend on the current firmware you have installed on that board, and also the warranty entitlement as to whether a firmware update is necessary/ recommended/ available. I would recommend that you contact Promethean support with the serial number of the board in order that they can assist you correctly. Thank you
  15. Hi Alis_Klar, The path to the temp folder mentioned above is as follows: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp This path is the default on most machines and is the same for both creator and destination PCs. Thank you
  16. Hi pbad, There is currently no way of doing this easily using Inspire settings. We will raise this with our development team for them to consider having this as an option in a future version. thank you
  17. Hi BBrian, Apologise for the delay in responding to this post. There are no ActivInspire specific command line switches as the .exe just follows standard Windows commands. I will raise an enhancement request with our development team for them to consider a "batch import/ convert" of SMART .notebook files in a future update. Thank you
  18. Hi jslate1980, This issue is not one that is "wide" in that it affects all users of ActivInspire. As with all product updates when you perform an upgrade if the upgrade hasn't installed correctly (for whatever reason) then you do get some issues. I have just performed an upgrade on my own machine to update 55 of Java and ActivInspire runs perfectly. It would be good if as a test one machine you have is update manually, and one using SCCM (if you use it) and see which one fails. If the SCCM route causes the failure then the issue would be SCCM. If the manual update fails then this would require Promethean to look closer at the issue, and I would recommend that you contact tech support with a sysinfo report so that they can take a closer look. Thank you
  19. Hi marsdenprimary, Is this happening with all flipcharts? or just certain ones? Do you know the exact version of ActivInspire that is installed? Are these flipcharts stored on a server somewhere or are they stored locally to the machines? The best thing to do would be to contact promethean support via PrometheanKB, answer the questions above, and send them a bad flipchart and a good one, they may be able to investigate further, though may not be able to rescue the flipcharts. Thank you
  20. Hi JWard, Apologies for the delay in coming back to you on this one. I have just tested this here and I could not replicate the problem that you are seeing. I have some further questions: 1. Does this issue affect all of the laptops when connected to all of the boards, or is it only 1 board that is affected? 2. Does this issue only affect 1 teacher or is it all teachers? 3. Does this issue only affect 1 laptop/ computer or is it all of them? 4. Does the same issue only occur if you only have the VGA cable for the projector connected and the USB for the board removed? That should allow us to start to pinpoint what is happening. Thank you
  21. Hi bladedanny, The fact that the light on the side of the board is not on at all is simply an indicator that there is no power getting to the board at all. This could either be caused by: 1. Loose power cable. 2. Faulty Power supply. 3. Faulty amp. 4. Plug disconnected or turned off at the switch. Do you know if the board is attached to one of our stands? is it adjustable or fixed? If it is then there is a power distribution block behind the board which sends power to the board, projector and when an adjustable stand, the motor. Please check all of these connections and ensure none are loose.
  22. Hi Harry1980, Thank you for the photograph this allows me to know the board type you have got, in your case the board is what we call AC1 (1st Generation). I will provide assistance on this post rather than the one you have previously posted on: (http://www.edugeek.net/forums/promethean-direct-support/135029-promethean-board-issue.html) When dealing with serial boards there are a number of points that have to be dealt with before they even start to think about working: 1. When turning the computer on ensure that the ActivBoard is connected to the computer serial port, and powered up correctly (beep followed by flashing red on this board). 2. When installing newer ActivDrivers ensure that you have the selected the USB + Serial option when prompted. 3. Within ActivManager (small Promethean icon on the system tray) there is a "connections" tab, you will need to tell ActivManager to connect to the serial port (this is normally COM 1, but is dependent on the computer configuration.) 4. On the newer ActivManager we have a known issues that the Auto Connect feature is not currently working, so we can roll the driver back if required. So based on the above, I would ask that you disconnect the board from the computer, head to add/remove programs and uninstall the ActivDriver. Then restart the machine. Then install the latest ActivDriver v5.9.27 (available from Free Teaching Resources, Lesson Plans & Worksheets). Ensuring you select Serial + USB when prompted. Then shut the PC down. Connect the board to the PC. Turn the PC on. Head to ActivManager control panel (small Promethean icon in the system tray). Click on "Connections". Click Find, or Connect. If this works please let me know and I will send you the old driver that works with automatic connections. If this doesn't work please contact Promethean Technical Support who may be able to assist you further. (PrometheanKB) Thank you
  23. Hi all, We have a known issue with the Auto Connect feature not working from driver v5.8 onwards. This is being worked on, but in the meantime the best method is to manually connect the board, or install the older v5.7 driver where the auto connect feature works. This bug only affects boards connected via serial, which is why the ActivHub connects OK as this uses USB. Thank you
  24. Hi JWard, Some additional questions. Are they using a cloned or extended desktop setup? How are the projectors connected to the laptops? is it via VGA, or HDMI? Could you post one of the powerpoint presentations that they are using in here so that I can test using the same presentation? What version of PowerPoint is being used? Thank you
  25. Hi woreilly, This sounds like a registry error of some description, however a quicker fix for this could be to change the filename of the .manifest file to the one that the installer is looking for. Thank you
