Hello! We are suddenly getting this error message in Activinspire (latest version) with all our flip charts: "There was an error loading the page, it has been replaced by a blank page." The horrible thing about this is that there is a 'yes' and a 'no' option... if the 'yes' button is clicked the file is automatically saved and overwrites with the blank pages!! We have had some sad teachers today... Could you help ASAP?

Had an issue with a student comprimising a staf members password last week so I thought I would force all staff to change their network login password. Unfortunately I did this in a hurry and reset them all to blank instead of forcing a password change. I announced this rather sheepishly in the briefing notes in the morning stating that once logged in they will need to change the password manually as a handful had already done this. Although I would have thought it obvious that you cannot have no password at all staff being staff a lot of them still have not changed. (I only no this because the Openfire IM does not allow them to log on with a blank password) I was wondering whether its possible to retrieve the users from active directory who still have blank passwords and set those to reset next logon as i should have done in the first place. I know I could just set them all to do this but think it will cause a lot of complaints (I'm getting enough already for the change in the first place although imho this shouldn't have happened in the first place).

Hi, I hope someone can help, we have only just had Bromcom set up and we are trying to find our way around the system and the users in our office are having trouble running reports using the standard reports in the system. When they run the report - i.e. for Dinners they choose the Dinner Account balance report when they run the report it is blank, the preview shows the report template data but there is no data in the report, also when the report is exported to Excel , it is blank. There are no errors in regards to permissions or anything, this is the same for any report they try and run. Our joint academy secondary school can run reports and get the data they need. Our system is the Primary school Does anyone have any idea on what the problem could be?

Evening chaps - Owing to long term staff absence the management of Sims over the last few months has been a little haphazard! I'll be removing permissions next week off some staff to reign in some of this. My issue is that the new year 7 cohert haven't been properly applied. I'll try to describe what has been done (apologies for the vague-ness of this - I'm not sure what has been done and what hasn't!) Academic year is promoted Yr7 have been accepted and applied Academic year is correct Base bands are correct and populated Sims is working fine - it's not a glitch but something we've not done I'm sure! All timetables exist of all years except yr7. Just blank. (Reports - Print Timetables - Date set - Yr7 set....Blank!! If I look at a teacher's TT it's correct but open one of their yr7 classes and it's empty - no pupils. What have we forgotten to do? Capita dialed in and were a little confused too - they've put it on to 2nd line support but this will be tomorrow at some point....Yr7 start at 8.20am tomorrow!! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks everyone

Hi there, I have been handed an Acer Aspire 5520 laptop from a friend who has purchased a new one, but there is an issue with the laptop...hence them getting a new one. when the laptop turns on, the fan comes on, cd drive makes the usual noise however the screen is completely blank. sometimes the laptop will stay on until i press the power button again, but sometimes it turns off within 4 seconds! every so often when it starts, the caps lock light is on but pressing the key doesn't change anything. I have ran tests on the HDD and the RAM on different laptops and they have come back clear. the only thing i can think of is a problem with the onboard graphics on the MB. I have googled this endlessly, found many ppl with the same issue but no proper resolution. If anyone has experienced this or know of anything i could do, please get in touch. Many Thanks Steve

I am very new to SIMS and this is probably a very basic question......and a second question that is perhaps more of a problem... 1. I am about to print out a set of reports. Is it possible to remove an X from a marksheet field? Because a "0" was entered for a tracking mark there is an X in the grade column on the marksheet and it is being displayed on the report. If I remove the "0" - the X remains. I think the settings are such, that if I could remove the X (which is greyed out) the report would not display the subject report. 2. We have a group of students who are repeating their AS year but have kept on one A2 subject. In the A2 subject, when the reports are printed, they are picking up the teacher comment from the previous year (the AS year) rather than the A2 teacher comment that I would like to display. I can manually change this on the exported Word document report - but am wondering if there is an easy way around this - because it is a problem that is going to present itself every year. My predecessors tell me that they never found a way around this! ..................... any advice appreciated. trackers
