  1. Hi VP - Sorry for the delay...you know what the beginning of term is like!? I did get the TT's printed - in time too. There's still loads of issues though, just trying to work my way through them now!
  2. Stuart - Thanks for the reply. I believe they have, yes. Date is a good question - Term started today and lessons begin tomorrow. Worth checking that in the morning that the timetable should have started today but may have been set for tomorrow? I did select tomorrow as the start date but may be as you've suggested? Thanks again chaps - much appreciated. Early bed for an early start!
  3. Thanks again - I believe that's been done but I'm not sure. Looks like an early start for me to see what I can figure out! Thanks Kiran
  4. I "THINK" so Kiran but I'll have a check in the morning, many thanks! Is that just an "apply" type thing or a process of stages to assign? Thanks again
  5. Evening chaps - Owing to long term staff absence the management of Sims over the last few months has been a little haphazard! I'll be removing permissions next week off some staff to reign in some of this. My issue is that the new year 7 cohert haven't been properly applied. I'll try to describe what has been done (apologies for the vague-ness of this - I'm not sure what has been done and what hasn't!) Academic year is promoted Yr7 have been accepted and applied Academic year is correct Base bands are correct and populated Sims is working fine - it's not a glitch but something we've not done I'm sure! All timetables exist of all years except yr7. Just blank. (Reports - Print Timetables - Date set - Yr7 set....Blank!! If I look at a teacher's TT it's correct but open one of their yr7 classes and it's empty - no pupils. What have we forgotten to do? Capita dialed in and were a little confused too - they've put it on to 2nd line support but this will be tomorrow at some point....Yr7 start at 8.20am tomorrow!! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks everyone
  6. Sadams - I have GLPI and OCS running on an old Windows 2003 server. It was a little fiddly to setup but works an absolute treat. GLPI pulls the data seamlessly from OCS and populates it. OCS Client works brilliantly and I have my whole network imported into it. Mine runs on an old Dell PE 2650 with 2 Gig RAM and it's plenty fast enough - no-one has complained anyway! This looks like a nightmare read but once you start it's quite easy and mostly all common sense! GLPI-Wiki/wiki/doku.php?id=en:glpiwindowsserver2003
  7. I saved all ours as 2003 and edited them on an older PC. Not ideal I know but it was quicker and I don't change the PPT's that much as most of my other content is dynamic.

  9. Installed countless sites on Joomla and never any issues with FH - They've been a very good provider for me for many years. What issues are you having? I've installed a Joomla this evening on a new server and have just used the IP (213.x.x.x normally) and with the username and passsword I'd already created. Make sure your DB and username are unique. If you have a Linux package with them you can have a number of MySql DB's for free so may be worth creating another to test properly. Feel free to drop me a PM if you'd like some guidance steps - Have literally just finished my latest install with FastHosts. All the best Michael
  10. Looking forward to trying this out! Can I be a pain and point out a spelling mistake on the main config. screen? 3 - If you have migrated user home folders use this option to update thier home folder settings within AD. Should read "their" Looks excellent though - Have new servers in the wings and this could be a life saver! Thanks to all that have put in time and effort into this!
  11. I'm using Safe PC Disposal :: Home :: for the second time in a few months. Friendly, efficient and free for education. They're based in Oxford. All documents (WEE etc..) and ownership papers are provided. Spot on service last time and I'm happy to use them again.
  12. It wasn't yet in the school's posession - only recently ordered I believe!
  13. Have learnt today that Empowered Learning have gone into liquidation. It's going to cause big problems in my borough, one school has apparently had it's equipment ceased already! Can anyone confirm this? I have a little more info but can't post it here!
  14. Hi all - Have just fixed my login reason 2 error. Changed 3 things (well 4 to include longer timeout but not needed for most) 1 - hosts file - entered the DNS and IP for the Sims server (Hosts located with no extension on the client PC. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc ) 2 - Entered the IP for the sims server in connect.ini instead of the DNS entry. 3 - Made sure client was using the correct shortcut procedure - not just pulsar or simsload but the full correct shortcut ("C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net\SIMSLoad.exe" "C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net\Pulsar.exe) Needs to read this exactly. My client didn't have this right either. 4 - I added the timeout to the connect.ini file on local client. Only as I'm running Sims across a VPN and it needed a little help! Have mine running a treat as we speak! Will be testing on a further machine in the morning but I'm quite hopeful this is the solution for me! Thanks all
