  1. Hi @Fraserb82, I believe (don't hold me to this) that we are targeting sometime towards the End August/ September (Depends on QA and other factors). Thanks
  2. Hi @Fraserb82, I do know that the ACG works with Airwatch in its current form....or at least it did (unless Airwatch have changed something?). Thanks
  3. Hi @Fraserb82, On the v6-75" there are x3 OPS options: Windows, No OS, or Android (OPS-G). We offer no guidance on connecting an Android operating system to ActivDirectory, as that would be dependant on the provider you use, and whether they support its usage or not. There are a number of different applications available that can connect to network shares, and also many MDM solutions that may allow connectivity into the AD environment, one of which would be Radix VISO (app provided by default on the box). https://www.radix-int.com/device-management-for-promethean.html Thanks
  4. Hi @Fraserb82, The ACON1-G update to Android 6 is currently being developed and looked at (along with the new Whiteboard App). The OPS-G comes with Android 6 as standard Thanks
  5. Hi All, What I can say is that "original" Grey/ orange pens are no longer being manufactured by Promethean, and to my knowledge, never again will be - due to some internal parts no longer being available. However, we have got another solution in the works, which is going to be applicable for the older AC2 boards, we do still manufacture the ActivArena pens which are compatible with the AC2 boards, and allow dual user functionality within ActivInspire. If you require new pens, then you would need to look at purchasing ARAAC2PENSET - They are £30 (plus postage) for a Teacher and student pen set (including applicable firmware update to the ActivBoard) on our needitnow site: https://needitnow.gb.prometheanworld.com/collections/activboard-older-version/products/activarena-pen-set-ac2-boards IF you want to source this through a reseller then of course the part code is provided above. Thanks
  6. Hi fraserb82, I can see on the Promethean case logging system that you have a case raised with us in regards to some issues you are having with Viso....this is currently with the Global Escalations team, of which I am a part of. I can see that you are having issues with Radix not connecting to your ACG's when connected to your network, though does when tethered to a phone hotspot. I will be picking this case up today and will review and provide next steps. As you have quite rightly pointed out, we do recommend the Radix solution, however I would expect that Radix should be able to tell you the relevant ports and addresses that it's own solution uses to connect to the ACG's. I will likely be sending this to the team that developed the relationship with Radix to see if we can get some answers for you. I will be sending you an email from that case in the next few hours to let you know that I have picked it up and that we are on with it. Thanks
  7. Hi @Fraserb82, I will post my reply here from the other post Hi @Fraserb82, There is no easy way to push the proxy settings out across the network. They are stored within each individual ActivInspire profile (of which there can be many if a teacher creates their own). There may be a way of doing this, however it might not work. On one machine, add the proxy settings for each ActivInspire profile, and save. Then copy the profile files from that machine, and push to the other machines on your network into the same location. They are stored (by default) here: C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Activ Software\ActivInspire\My Resources\My Profiles Thanks

  9. Hi jon_nais, This is something that cropped up an older version of ActivInspire. The issue is caused by Windows when the ActivPanel is turned on AFTER ActivInspire has started. Windows sends x2 inputs into ActivInspire, newer versions of ActivInspire are configured to ignore the second input. Can you confirm that you are running at least ActivInspire v2.9 or above. If it is, you will need to log with the support team so that they can start the process to get the issue raised with the development teams. If your teachers turn the ActivPanel on first, before the computer, they should not see this issue. Thanks
  10. @Andycat - Nope, as this would go against this portion of the licence: "the Software received as part of a Related Purchase is only permitted to be operated with the Promethean Equipment or the Promethean Certified Equipment with which it was purchased. The Software is not permitted to be operated with any other 3rd party Interactive Display Devices." So if you have received ActivInspire as part of a related purchase (through an ActivBoard/ ActivPanel for example) then you cannot use it with any other 3rd party interactive device. If you have bought ActivInspire as a stand alone piece of software however, then you can use it on whatever hardware you want. Thanks
  11. Hi all, ActivInspire licencing from the outset appears to be a complicated beast, but in reality it really isn't. I'll answer @Fraserb82's question first: Do we offer site licences: Yes, these are available via any of our resellers. Are you limited to the one key that comes with the board: The answer to this one will allow you to determine if you require to purchase additional licenses or not. When you purchase a Promethean Front of Class Device (qualifying ActivBoards, ActivPanels etc) you are provided FOR EACH DEVICE a single user licence for ActivInspire Professional, however this single user licence allows you to install ActivInspire onto x2 machines, 1 to drive the device, and another for preparation work. So if you have x10 ActivBoards at your school, you can install ActivInspire onto x20 computers. Now it's worth noting that we do not at this stage monitor when a licence is being used, as that is up to the school to ensure that they compliant with relevant licences that they are using for software. In relation to actually using a licence key, ActivInspire will activate with any valid licence key, and in fact, if you are using a network installer, you can use a single key across your network, so you don't need to enter multiple keys on multiple machines. So you would need to calculate how many qualifying devices you have at he school, times that by 2, then work out how many machines you need to install it onto, then whatever he difference is, is how many licences you would need to purchase. To answer @XiJ's question: Yes we sell a multi user licence for 3rd party screens, you would need to contact one of our resellers, this link contains some useful information around getting in touch with our sales teams, who should point you in the right direction: https://www.prometheanworld.com/en-gb/how-to-buy/ Hope this helps
  12. ActivInspire has got an export features, (to .iwb, .pdf, .jpg and .bmp) but only if you have got the fully licensed professional version (i.e. you have put an ActivInspire Serial key into the registration window). The Personal edition of ActivInspire DOES NOT have any export features. Professional Primary look and feel: (notice Export feature) Personal Edition: (notice NO Export feature) There is no "lock In" as being described above, and nor have we "put an end to it" either. If you feel that you have the Professional Edition, and are missing the Export feature, please contact our support teams via: https://support.prometheanworld.com/contact/ They will be more than happy to work with you to ensure that everything is functioning as it should be and that you have no functions missing where you should be entitled to them. Thanks
  13. Hi gerardsweeney, You are describing a slightly different issue to one that this thread is about. This thread is specific to the automatic connection on a reboot not working on serial connected devices. If you cannot get your Serial devices to connect at all, I would suggest that you carry out the below: 1. Uninstall ActivDriver 2. Delete the following files/ folders - C:\Program Files\ActivSoftware\ActivDriver - These 3 files from C:\Windows\System32\drivers - ACTIVhidmini.sys - activmouse.sys - activhidsermini.sys Reboot the machine, reboot the board (disconnect power, leave for 30 seconds, reconnect) Reinstall 5.17, attempt to connect to the ActivBoard via the appropriate COM port associated to your COM port. The Serial portion of our ActivDriver has not changed in nearly a decade, since we stopped manufacturing ActivBoards that supported serial connections. The "change" to the portion of the ActivDriver that will fix the automatic startup bug, whilst from the outside appears to be a "quick" thing to fix, the reality is very different. It requires coding changes at a really deep kernel level, and any changes to that portion of the driver will require a full rewrite, along with Microsoft driver re-certification being carried out at a significant cost for a product that we no longer manufacture, support or formally test anymore. The last driver version that we were required to get re-certified on All of our current product use Microsoft provided drivers for functionality, the ActivDriver in effect is now a "bolt on" that provides us with additional tools that allow us additional control over certain features and functions of our hardware portfolio. What you could do to get around this is to monitor the below registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ActivHidSerMini\Parameters\ActivPort Ensure that if it changes to anything other than the associated COM port that it is charged before the machine reboots, you could possibly put it in as a script to check on the startup of the computer. If you want to try driver 5.7 you can do, the link to download is here: https://promethean.box.com/s/lg9uekmwvhjj6hwft4e7izvulsw1u6nm Hope this helps.
  14. Hi Sheridan, I do know that Promethean have "run out" of that particular PSU. You may be able to source a comparable PSU, as long as the ratings and the dimensions of the connector are the same. Thanks
  15. Hi JATSO, Do you know if the cabling that you are using are the ones that Promethean supply? There are 3m leads? or have your reseller/ installers put in their own leads instead or in addition to the Promethean supplied leads? It is very odd that they would work 1 way and not the other, it is possible that the "snake setup" is faulty, and one end of the HDMI is causing a larger signal drop than the other before it gets to the ActivPanel. If the cabling that you are using is supplied by Promethean then you would be best contacting them via their support pages. If it is supplied by your installer/ reseller, then you would need to contact them for them to investigate further. thanks
  16. Hi bledegschicht, This is likely to be an authentication issue, you will need to input a username and password of a user that can authenticate onto your proxy server. You need to out the IP address of your server into the server box, the port, and then the user name and password. If this doesn't work I would suggest that you contact Promethean Technical support who will be able to advise further: https://support.prometheanworld.com/contact/ Thanks
  17. Hi Voodoo, Your last paragraph is what is true as of today. ClassFlow Desktop can only currently be activated if you are using a Promethean interactive display, or you have your own private Classflow site. The alternative is to simply use the free Classflow.com / .co.uk website, which is totally free regardless of the front of class display. The site is totally web based, and has more features than ClassFlow Desktop. Thanks
  18. Hi mr_anthony, I would highly recommend that you contact Promethean technical support. https://support.prometheanworld.com/contact/ I know that they have instructions on swapping out the amplifier (which is the component that the circled section in RED is a part of) however, if the part has dropped to the bottom of the board, then I don't believe there is a full disassembly guide for this, as that is none serviceable. Thanks
  19. Hi Matthew, I would highly recommend that you contact our support team. So staff are setting their computer up, starting powerpoint, and then going into presentation mode? Before they have even turned the ActivPanel on? I don't think there is a way of telling PowerPoint to push the presentation to the ActivPanel, when it will not be being seen by the computer. As I said, it would be best to contact the support guys about this so they can set a full test bed up. thanks
  20. Hi Jon_nais, Many thanks for the update. I know this was a head scratcher at first, but glad we finally got to the bottom of it. @MrFrostmaul, If you could let me know your case number I will see if your panels are the same as jon_nais and arrange to have this firmware sent to you as well if they are. Thanks
  21. Hi jon_nais, The 2880x288 is telling me that something has gone wrong in terms of a communication break down somewhere. As I have mentioned in previous comments the EDID information (the screen resolution that the ActivPanel can display) is stored on the ActivPanel, when a display cable is connected the graphics card sends a request to the ActivPanel for its EDID information. If this is not being received correctly (for whatever reason) then this may cause display issues, such as the incorrect screen resolution being shown. A good test for this to see if this is being caused by the panel is to connect a direct HDMI cable to the ActivPAnel from a known working HDMI laptop or computer. If the correct screen resolutions are being picked up, then this tells us that the ActivPAnel EDID information is correct and is being sent back correctly. I would highly recommend that you contact Tech support via: https://support.prometheanworld.com/contact/ The registration portal and the registration of the panel does not dictate whether you can receive support via email, phone or chat. I know for a fact that the support team will be asking you to test the ActivPanel using cabling supplied by Promethean, directly connected to the ActivPanel, we cannot support cabling or equipment that is not supplied by us. Thanks
  22. Hi all, If any of you have contacted our support team, would you be able to provide the case number(s) that you have received? I want to ensure that we aren't missing anything and that the replication steps that I have followed on this page, match the reality of whats going on. As I said, each time I connected my v5 4K (75"), my computer remembered my previous screen settings, regardless of when and how I had connected the screen. Thanks
  23. Hi Jon_nais, As Boredguy says, it is the graphics card and Windows which dictates the output and arrangement. The ActivPanel is just the same as using a TV or HDMI connected monitor, it does not have the capability to dictate a mirror or cloned mode. The only times that this might "fall over" I have listed above. There are no "updates" to firmware, but a reflash of the mainboard firmware may be a good idea, as this will rewrite its EDID information, which is its supported screen resolution table, and unique ID mentioned above. Based on what you have said above the following changes have been made to the system: 1. A secondary HDMI (I'm guessing that the monitor is HDMI and not DVI?) device added (the ActivPanel). 2. You are now driving the PC monitor via VGA and not via the Displayport. If you log it with support and have them escalate the case, they have a team that can remote onto the machine and take a closer look to see if they can work it out.
  24. Hi jon_nais, What I am saying is that I tested out the scenarios that you provided using my own laptop using Windows 10, and each time I connected the v5 75 4K panel with my panel on, or off, or my machine on or off, or rebooted etc, that my machine remembered the screen arrangement that I used the last time I connected the panel, including screen resolution, which monitor was the primary, and also whether the panel was on the right or left of the main monitor, and whether I was in cloned mode or not. The way that this works is that when you connect a display device (this can be any display device), Windows pulls down off the device it's unique ID, its table of supported screen resolutions and refresh rates, and then stores this information in the computer registry. You then set your desired screen arrangement and settings, and Windows stores this information as well. The next time you connect the VERY same display device to the machine, it looks into its registry and loads this information back up to match what was used last time. So based on the fact that for whatever reason your setup is not remembering this information, it could be one of a few things: 1. The settings are not being stored in the registry. 2. The DisplayPort adapters are not passing the correct information through each time a connection request is made. 3. The ActivPanel ID is not being read correctly by the computer. In order to start narrowing down the possibilities I would start with creating a brand new local admin user on the machine and see if the same thing happens. I would then recommend getting a computer that has a direct HDMI out and see if you get the same results. I would also highly recommend contacting Promethean Technical support so that they can start the ball rolling at their end to see if there is indeed anything with the panel that might be causing this in relation to firmware versions etc. The ActivPanel itself has zero bearing on whether a computer is going to clone or extend, it is simply a display device, much like a projector is.
  25. Hi jon_nais, Having tested this today I can confirm that my laptop running the same graphics card running the very latest updated version of Windows 10, that my computer remembers the last settings that I used regardless of the order I have connected things up, or turned things on with. This setting is being driven by Windows, and I would suggest that you create a quick shortcut on the desktop that points to: C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /clone If a user finds that they are in extended and want to quickly change to clone, they can double click the shortcut; this will still allow them the flexibility of changing to an extended desktop if they ever wanted to. I would suggest that you contact Microsoft to see if there is a way of forcing this clone via the registry, but from a quick glance, I couldn't see an easy way of achieving this. Thanks
