  1. RP653K v1 and v2 are the only benq panels weve picked up which as far as im aware stopped at android 5 or 6
  2. I mean in as far as diconnecting them from the cabled network/removing the wifi cards - i dont care if they run locally just not online
  3. A quick query... Is there anyway to enable EZWrite as an sso app in google workspace? this gives users direct easy access to the app - this makes getting staff to pick it up alot easier from our side + the benefits of classroom integration etc Will we ever get OS upgrades on older panels, the bigest problem for me in this space is the lack of support from suppliers, yo uget whatever comes on it as shipped + the few security updates/patches and nothing more so these to me are becoming the biggest security threat on my network to the point where i want to disable them and make the connected computer do all the work as atleast i know thats secure and functional.
  4. Make sure youve enabled cloud backups, makes replacing a dead cloudkey/not having to reset everything a breeze!
  5. i had to turn the gestures off on the mouse for one of our users as they didnt understand what it was
  6. spin yourself a 3cx trial up and bring your own sip trunk then you can use mobiles with the app, web based phone, or buy handsets to suit - we use yealink and the setup is easy, add a dhcp option and plugin we have a hosted system with a provider which is £230 a month with 24 simultaneous calls - this is enough capacity for us to run 12 schools without touching the limit with 250 handsets if you size it right you will be paying peanuts
  7. what do you mean legacy? both need renewed annually?
  8. We had to get our smoothwall set to not auto negotiate its link speed to the isp router in the past they kept jumping to/from 100/1000. I cant remember if i got the ISP to do this or if i got smoothwall though as weve since moved it to the isp datacenter
  9. my M2 12" looks to be able 135degrees before it stops?
  10. its an inkjet printer, thats why it doesnt use heat, whats the cost per copy?
  11. not true, works on the free edition, you just dont get the mdm functionality
  12. I wouldnt use anything but jamf at this point, its pricey but works a treat
  13. its automatic, the embeded functions on the km machines is just a website so loads back up as the papercut server comes online
  14. it is compliant and works fine functionally but the on device webclips wont open once you disable safari, regardless of default browser being set to firefox- i settled on using a plist to configure the browser a bit an having the kids shortcuts on a google site so the teachers could maintain it.
  15. shouldnt take long if its not the internet thats the bottleneck. Is the harddrive on its last legs? if you slide out the download status window on the epic launcher it should give you some info on the download/read/write speed as it unpacks
  16. Even so, its an internal attack vector for malware to get roots. - - - Updated - - - These days the MFP may need a licence/configuration to enable the embeded software but papercut auto installs/sets up the embeded stuff on every copier brand ive used it with after thats done so never had to touch them, except maybee a reboot of the printer if the embeded software hangs after updating.
  17. We used ipads in shared mode, Smoothwall browser with the app configured to store the login in icloud - this makes the login a one time deal. custom browsers are horrible though, causes issues with webclips and stuff so gotta weigh up the pros and cons, its a shame the ipad cant just be made to ping the idex with the current user or something like that atleast for onsite or a pseudovpn that does the ident/scanning stuff like an adblocker
  18. Weird, im only having the issue with this one computer and the only stand out different is 11
  19. this on windows 11 by any chance? Put my first one into the domain a few weeks ago and had the teacher come to me saying this was happening.
  20. We do all our routing on the ISP provided router so weve not had to do anything on them so to speak. Vlans are a few clicks, wifi if you venture is just a simple. Get the occasional issues with firmwares(WIFI rather than switches) whenever a major version jump occurs but i feel like were in a good period at the minute as the current stuff has stabilised. Asa localzuk said, theyre cheap enough in comparison to others to save a wedge and buy a spare for the shelf as your contingency.
  21. The gen2 switches support layer3, to what extent im not too sure but its in there now after a while of coming soon
  22. https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/3017014?hl=en#zippy=%2Cstep-configure-managed-guest-session-settings%2Cstep-configure-your-chromeos-devices
  23. Its not difficult to setup the managed guests to be fair, just a bit more than "enable guests"
  24. If you do any ssl inspection you will need to use managed guest sessions, SSL inspection certs wont deploy into regular guest sessions
  25. I think its a one or the other arrangement. The agent reports from AD logins - isnt logout aware, so can lead to weird things in a user switching arrangement, requires no client config. The client had alot of issues with our setup where it would crash and not restart - this would result in internet not working until the machine rebooted or i restared the service so i removed it and deployed the agent as it was more reliable
