  1. BIND should handle DNS on you server from a basic install. then just set that as the DNS server on the clients.
  2. accupart is the cheapest I have found. Did a C660 a while back. Rob
  3. is the user folder chmod,chgrp,chown (ed) the same as the other user folders. Rob
  4. Did you have the shared memory issue too? Does seem odd that there is not a note or any warnign when going to 640x480 that it does not work. Rob

  7. Put a clamp meter over both incomming supplies. You will be nowhere near 750W - Most likly one supply will show 300-400w and the other very little. Rob

  9. Done pull - push - rebuilds many times and disks have either not rebuilt, died soon after or lasted for years. It all depends on why it droped out of the array in the first place. Have a spare on the shelf or as a assigned hot spare. Rob
  10. Schools have to remember that it's not just day-2-day support that needs doing, long term plannign and development needs to be included to improve the provison over time. Rob

  12. It's impossible to answer with a formula. we have 4 staff covering 2 schools one 1200, other 500 students. Our setup is fairly slick for systems maintenance but we are still kept busy. Rob
  13. Draytek do a dual/tri failover router. But if your using your own hosted internet/mail/yada servers on static IP's they will not work unless you change DNS settings ( or have 2 MX for Mail. ) Rob

  16. We use CS5 Photoshop with no problems on Citrix VDI, it was one of the tests we did in our Proof of concept. No Special Graphics hardware, and the clients are either HP T5740's or 4320T (thin laptops) Rob
  17. I always used stage electrics for new stuff, may be worth giving them a call to see if they have any used/ex-demo/ex-hire stuff. Rob

  22. We used to run our own MYSQL DB with a web front end, The DB had MAC, Room, IP, Machine Name, A script checked a flag file every minuet for changess and if it found a change it rewrote the DHCP config. Worked very well for a number of years. Rob
  23. Setup ghettoVCB yesterday in the office in about 15 mins. And again last night at home. Works a treat.
