  1. I would have sugested EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard - Recover deleted, lost or formatted files and more... Which I have used to recover mem sticks, But the fact it does not ask to format the drive suggests that the usb can't see the storage at all. Rob
  2. Cumbria was the first one our original squid box squashed with it's first day in use... Still it did a grand job of increasing the performance of our ISDN2!!! Rob
  3. LOL... I used to do weekly off load test starts on one years ago. The Genny was in a tight courtyard up against a wall with enough space to get to the control panel doors. You would open it up put the key in, turn it to manual, press the start button , and s$^t yourself every time!!! And you could guarantee that every time there was a power cut the thing would not fire up!! Rob
  4. Indeed, The OP did not ask about how good it is..
  5. Made redundant not sacked. Rob
  6. 320I's 30 Users login at once. We have 60 Devices but not tested that far as yet, these are fattops. On our other site we use thintops and can have 60 out in an area with no issue, However they could be on differing AP's. Meru are usualy very persistent and helpful on support cases.. Rob
  7. does the device show but say unformatted? Rob
  8. We have and we found that if users had big profiles then things slow to a crawl. We also found that a machine built from a rehashed image of another machine caused problems when lots of users logged on at the same time. Rob

RS3100's and Tickfords are in the stratospher price wise. Turbo's and especial Brooklands 280's are very high too... I once had a project 1.6 laser. Rob
  10. Well: My test laptop can get an IP, it gets DNS. I fire up firefox and try to go to google. It goes to the captive portal and I log on ( will change this to an accept button ) And it goes directly to the citrix logon. I try to go to google, it does nothing. I try to ssh to our web server, it does nothing. I try any website other than the VDI.... It does nothing.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Rob
  11. Well I am 70% of the way there. I haev PF up, captive working , just need to fix it's DNS as that's being funky... and then make sure the rest of it is LOCKED down. I wasted 2 hrs because explorer would not show the toolbar at the top and I could not manage PF via the WAN interface. Firefox on a client side allowed me to enable HTTPS to get in via firefox on the wan side. Rob

Both the sierras are 4x4, but some of the other ones were RWD and fun.. Spent far too long stuck with FWD things. My Currrent TDCi mondeo is being replaced with an unsensible car as I no longer need a car for big mileage... Rob
  13. that will route all trafic going to the 172.20.2.0 via the PF

Got 2 Sierras on my drive .. Both off the road at present.... had 13 over the years and a scorpio Cosworth and a granada Cosworth.... This weekend I make a glorious return to RWD and POWER Rob
  15. how are you going to force teh clients to hit the captive portal?
  16. you can do it by not having a vlan interface on the BYOD vlan ( preventing it routing ) and brdiging the pf between one of the other vlans on the switch and the byod vlan. Rob
  17. Race you........ Rob
  18. yes that one or the i386 depending on your hardware.
  19. ???? the PF is not for the EXTERNAL firewall, its to sit between the BYOD devices and the Cisco switch. Rob
  20. or you could have the PFS as the only thing plugged into the Cisco, and it's second interface connected to a switch for the BYOD. Then all traffic would travers the PF Rob
  21. You either assign the PFSense as the DG and have it's DG as the vlan interface IP. Or out PFSense as a transparent bridge , stick one of it's ports on your vlan and then connect the other port to a downstream switch for you BYOD, that way all traffic passes through it before hitting the cisco.
  22. PIX 525 unrestricted for sale £30 with 4 port expansion
  23. sounds like i should forget the untangle build and go directly to PF.... watch this space.
  24. I gave up yesterday with squid on sles.. Pfsense and Untangle probably both use squid as the underlying engine but built to work.
