powershell script to find version of sophos RMS on all computers in AD
fredbayker replied to fredbayker's topic in Scripts
Thanks for the script Peter. I do have SEC but can't find any functionality to be able to identify which machines have an older version of RMS which is preventing me from upgrading the the latest version of SEC - It's not the best bit of software for management. -
I’m having trouble getting to grips with powershell as I don’t do that much scripting. Can someone provide me with a simple script or lines of code to query AD and for each computer find the version of software named ‘Sophos Remote Management’ and append that to a csv file please? Any help is appreciated.

FIFA probably have to consider the league season and transfers windows, preseason and players holidays, so they probably don’t have much room for manoeuvre. It’s could’ve been played on the Saturday maybe but probably not another weekend.

We use a HPZ2100 which meets all your criteria although I’m not sure on the costs of the consumables. Only issue is it doesn’t work with macs properly so we use a windows machine to print to it.

This is exactly our experience. Hence we are currently switching back to desktops as we have endless trouble with regular, cover teachers & trainee teachers. Cables go missing or get damaged etc. Most cover staff don’t seem to have gotten to grips with screen duplication. We’ve found it opens you up to more overheads in cost and time.

If you have a sophosutm box you have 2fa functionality built in to it. Works pretty well -

You can deploy that regkey to your clients using security filtering if it’s only for a specific dept
-
I’m not sure but you may be able to ‘embed’ the activation into your build. However if you’re using a licensing server then the clients ‘borrow’ a licence for a fixed time and then have to renew- like dhcp works. You can configure a reg key to point your clients to your server. HKLM/software/solidworks Have you done this?

Getting autocad to work with redirected profiles
fredbayker replied to jslate1980's topic in Educational Software
At our place, I haven’t installed it personally but AFAIK it is working. What issue are you having and I’ll see it happens at our place? -
As yac2016 said, you have to edit from a windows 10 machine using rsat tools

File and print sharing enabled and maybe network discovery? Just throwing these things out there

Yeh and setting it shouldn’t be so difficult. MS have made a right mess of it.

We’ve found it to work just fine with Windows 10 clients deployed from a 2016 server. As Duke5A said, use the shared printer option and place GPO on the users OU. Item level target either user security groups and/or computer OUs

I think this is related to a corrupt Appdata and/or profile
-
We have a site licence or use a registration key that seems to work fine- I assume it’s a site licence we’re using but can’t say for sure as I wasn’t involved in the purchase.

Can I have a copy too please? Thank you [emoji120]

You could get a contractor in to do it for you
