i have deleted the autorun but it reappears seconds later, i have trawled the net further and found the name of the regkey : microsoftNS.exe, i searched and deleted that ............. just had another 2 members of staff coming with them arrggg

has anyone come across this before. i think a teachers pen drive has infected my pc. although nothing seems to be picking it up. it creates folders in your pen drive called cold/hott and auTORUN.inf in the root and makes the pendrive show in my comp as a folder. having googled round i found various references to how to remove but have had no joy. panda usb vaccine seems to have done the best > it no longer shows as a folder and the autorun seems to be blocked now, but the folders are still there and reappear when deleted any ideas?

slt (staffordshire learning tech not sen leadership team) are a great bunch they save me sooo much time. i would be lost with out both slt and edugeek (and a good pint at the end of the week!)

I have been getting some staff to use this and they are quite liking it. we have had students on it also and did a survey after to guage their responses and they were very positive. the only neg coent was speed. but i am aware of a upgrade that is planned soon to boost the back end.... all in all looking forward

did you every find this out??? i currently have a kid who has sent 'I love you. I have no pubes ' to all staff and primary staff

i found the way to do the jobs that dont get done is.... just do them... tell them you need more staff from the start. if other stuff suffers then the head & line manager will notice and say why this and why that and just explain that the stuff you are doing NEEDS to be done and that you told them you need more staff but the school is now - less liable to get fined for licening issues as you have sorted that have a faster network as you have sorted servers out has a red bus policy incase the worst happens all backup are running properly as there was an issue have laid down a 5 year dev plan which will help the school save money and plan blah blah

it would be a manual job tho wouldnt it? your cant just set it to create the webspace automatically for all users? as far as i know... if im wrong id be interested too.

i have done this several times - altho you need to mess with the ini file as i ended up with 2 packages in the rmmc called v1.0.0.0 neither with a description lol fixed it after fiddling

how many students do you have? how many servers? i was looking at ours recently as the it hod was moaning, i think what you have would keep him happy, i see no need. i would have to massivly increase file server size and increase backup system

i love gadgets but not got the cash would have soooo much more toys if i did at present i have a big pc 3years old net book 1 year old laptop4+ years old 2x 28" screens xbox - linked to media center iphone 3gs stereo is about 10years old now so plenty of toys just not all new
