  1. i would look into hosting it your self. this would give the added advantage of AD integration etc and more flexibility. 1and1 are good though.

  7. everyone should have chrome installed anyway...it rocks! but kids cant install anything or run none whitelisted exes
  8. cc3, i have not thought about portable versions at the moment, would need to add a software restriction policy etc (which i think is a reboot job) and the proxy setting, and wouldnt be a 2 sec job. i know package allocation would require a reboot too lol but i dont know if it was the wine last night or the repeating "yes i know about it, its the same for the whole school, i have been working on it since 850 thurs, county cant solve and have passed to rm who are looking at the issue. it will be fixed when it is fixed... sorry" plus chrome gets IEs proxy settings lol
  9. with IE dying on its feet (crashing before it loads), i need to get staff/students net access asap whilst the problem is being resolved. so i really could do with a chrome package (i cant make one as the underlyign problem is with builds) please help
  10. cheers all

"grumble grumble grrr" gotta put my tie on now "grrr!" right adam smiles now (you not at your computer) "how can i help?" get shows a carrier bag and get wished happy bday! i have beerrrrrrr! and a card :D:p:D:)
  12. free house / flights and a team bigger than 2? im there!
  13. as a maths teacher has sent confidential info to students i need to delete it for her. was sent to asertive mentees not mentors we have exchange 2003, never tried so will be trying straight away just wanted to ask in plenty of time.
  14. the rss icon in the corner overlaps i dont know if this was the intent but i think a smaller one would work better. i agree with the title banner due to the colour and that it looks streched (slightly blury) but as you have said this will be getting done. design wise i would try a white to blue gradiented bkg with the shine in the corner as the eyes will focus on the content more. but all in all nice site!
  15. done on local station yday with no joy, am goin to mess with the server end later but not in school time
  16. bump: i think it may be to do with the rm client security module. does this help? any ideas?
  17. our builds seem to be going up the duff. all application packages allocate fine. but the tools packages (generally windows updates) just fail. when investigating in the event viewer i recieve the error; now for some reason iexplorer.exe is crashing for 70% of kids giving the error GDI+ window: iexplore.exe blah blah blah (cant remember) does any one have an idea???????? PLEASE
  18. totally agree with these points and i also think that the title image whilst being nice is very busy. tho if im being honest im nit picking a gr8 design! love the colourised awards and the locations of them. our head insists we have every award we have ever been given which leads to a cluttered design. although this is nice and simple. i need to re do ours and design for 1024x768 and not 800x600 lol
  19. i noticed the evil comic sans too
  20. very cool nice design. how long did it take?

    FITS

i swear im no loosing it and am making it up lol we are aproaching 500 and i have .7 of another tech as he is out 1.5 days aweek. and we have so much work on. i currently have cover supervisors running round pat testing for me as the responsibility for whole school pat testing is now mine aswell as all it equip. our head is stubborn so we have no chance. he saw my predecessor did bugger all so it looked like we had no work. now there is less of us more work (plus i get less pay than he did). sorry ended up being a rant lol

cheers i already found that, the fits foundataion site looks nice but search yeilds no results and i cant find what i want. i have been asked to get information about recommended number of it support staff (i have collated data from here) i remember there being a section in fits about 1 tech per 100 stations (well running network) 1 tech per 80 in badly running/old nw i cant find this tho
