right i just booted into safe mode no network and runs fine. just booted into safe mode iwth networking and it sucks again. i have the call raised with county already but more ideas the better

server 2 is currently agrivating me. it 'runs' fine. apart from the GUI - ish when navigating to my comp/docs/explorer it takes 5 mins and trying to do anything else in that time is pointless. looking in task man 700mb ram in use and cpu is just chilling. if i click my comp, a file on desktop then double click the time (to load calender) 5 mins later they will all appear in that order. printing is being done on this server and thats about it. it seems to have problems talking to server 1 and (popups about cant see the shares from that server) but other servers can so not a sharing issue with s1) - sysadmins workarea on s1 is disconnected at present EVENT VIEWER APPLICATION i have mr_monitor errors Controller ID: 0 Unexpected sense: PD= 1:255, CDB = 0x12 0x01 0x00 0x00 0xff 0x00 , Sense = 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 . but after reading this is not a problem - raid card APCPBEAgent "Communication Not Established" SYSTEM w32time random errors about signature FRS seems to be some replication problems from other servers to this one but i exprected this ---------- i have rebooted several times am going to try booting minus nw cable and in safe mode help pls

take a day to email it back but their is a download of the trial sw which does it instantly

have loads of printers on this server lol, just hard rebooted - its still being gehy tho. late night ahead me thinks. cant event get to control pannel. the desktop loaded but i cant even click start. looking on taskman performance there 0-1%cpu and 665mb ram used perhaps im asking to much of this 1 1/2 year old server. meh:confused:

went to the launch of the new aston martin rapide last night oooo nice motor - not as nice as the DBS that they had there but still nice also had a car sim set up - configured to be a forumla 3 car. and i got on the number 5 slot wooooooo not bad for a non driver, the missus went on as did her dad and were way off the score board haha thinking of booking a work part at one of these things

i really need to reboot one of our servers! explorer.exe has crashed and as im using the remotedesktops mmc i cant load taskmanager - or anything. this server has no users on now (except guest users and random others - no staff/students) but it does have print audit which im trying to configue meh may just give it a hard reboot. what do u lot do when you cba wait till the end of the day as work on that server is 'todays job' and other jobs are dependant on this ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

old, out of warranty or ber (beyond economical repair) kit is either chucked (if one off and small) or put in storage til a good quantity of kit is their and then sent to be recycled (fixed up and sold/broken down for parts) supprisingly hard to find some1 who will take old equipment away from you - afew years ago i found a guy who will do it for free so all cool

all/most hardware (read stations, servers, laptops, projectors, whiteboards etc) from SLT (staffordshire learning technologies) who provide hardware support (repairs) and warranty support (they sort all warranty issues out without us having to get involved). all stations are RM and servers are RM with admin servers being viglin (same as RM then). this does make life easier for us. as well as this we use them for network installs as they pretty much built the infrastructure so are very familar. i have looked at other companies but this seems a one stop shop, sometimes not as cheap as others, some times they are. just the easy solution

what exchange maintenance do you lot do? we purchased ours afew years ago from county but had to figure it all out our selves. we hadnt had nor been offered training on it either. this is all fine i can find my way round it easily enough but as far as routine maintenance i aint a clue.
