  1. Managed to resolve this issue. The firewall on Smoothwall was blocking the traffic. Set the allow all policy for the dirsync server and it all works now.
  2. Yep, the full O365 category has been added to the Auth Bypass. When running netsh winhttp show proxy it shows as Direct Access (no proxy) - I have set the Server VLAN to go direct and not via the web filter.
  3. Full email style username has been added for the O365 one. Here is an entry in Event Viewer: Unable to establish a connection to the authentication service. Contact Technical Support. GetAuthState() failed with -2147186688 state. HResult:0. Contact Technical Support. (0x80048862) AND Failed credential provisioning ping. Error: Microsoft.Online.Coexistence.ProvisionException: Unable to establish a connection to the authentication service. Contact Technical Support
  4. I've given it both a local AD account as well as an O365 admin username/password and Forefront Identity Manager prompts with that error message.
  5. Hello all, We have just had a new Smoothwall appliance installed and all seems to be working well apart from the fact I cannot get DirSync to work. Everytime I enter the DirSync username and password I get: "Unable to establish a connection the authentication service. Contact Technical Support." I have added: - microsoftonline.com - windows.net - microsoft.com - microsoftonline-p.com to the Authentication exceptions and the servers have direct access to the internet - they don't go through the web filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
  6. I'm going to have another go during the summer holiday sometime to see if I can get it working.
  7. No, I didn't. Have tried it with App-V 5.1 latest hotfix and still has the same issue. I have also tried the latest version of Small Basic to no avail. It's very annoying as its such a small application and would be ideal to be App-V'd.
  8. Legend!! Installed it into a PVAD and it works as normal! Many thanks
  9. Some of our titles are, but some of the older ones aren't.
  10. Hello everyone, Different departments here have the ActiveTeach software, and I am trying to deploy the software using Microsoft Application Virtualisation (App-V), however, whenever I go to launch the ActiveTeach software a dialog box appears asking for the location of the 'Wrapper' shockwave flash file (see attached image). If I select ‘wrapper’ and click open and repeat this one final time, the software functions as normal. Is there a workaround so that this dialog is not displayed and ActiveTeach opens immediately? I have tried to contact Pearson for help regarding this but they have come back saying that they don't support App-V and want me to contact Microsoft directly. Has anyone else come across this issue and if so, have you managed to resolve it? We also have the Assessment Pack software which isn't affected and loads up as normal. Many thanks in advance.
  11. Tried packaging it using the App-V 5.1 Sequencer and Client to no avail. Guess it's going to have to be deployed and installed virtually. There's probably a really quick fix, but I can't figure out. It's annoying because its just a small application and would be really useful if it could be deployed using App-V. Maybe it has some hardcoded paths and when running in the App-V it breaks it... At least, it's not an urgent thing to get installed, so I might have another go again with it. If anyone has any bright ideas, please let me know and if I do figure it out, I'll post the solution on this thread. Thanks again!

  13. Hello everyone, Been asked to deploy Microsoft Small Basic out to our IT Suite computers. We use App-V for all our software deployment. However, I have packaged the software into an App-V 5.0 SP3 Package but when testing it, Small Basic continually crashes during launch, at the splash screen. I have tried tweaking various settings in the Sequencer, to no avail. Was wondering if anyone else has had any success with getting Small Basic App-V'd? Any help much appreciated.
  14. Anyway, I have managed to get it to work. I updated our site with the latest hotfix (CU5) straight after I had installed SCCM 2012 R2. It would appear that if you try to install the client (from scratch) on the site server after installing the hotifxes, you have to install the update the manually otherwise the client won't work. Must be a bug or something.
  15. We're also using Endpoint Protection 2012 and by installing the client on the site server we can deploy our custom Endpoint Protection policy to it.
  16. We have setup a replacement instance of SCCM as we wanted to start from scratch with it. Our previous instance which was set up by our support company had the SCCM client on the site server which is the reason I am trying to install it on this new replacement instance. Is it not recommended to install the SCCM Client on the site server?
  17. Hello everyone, We have recently just installed SCCM 2012 R2 and all is working great, except from the fact that when we install the Configuration Manager client on the SCCM server it will not auto assign the Site ID. Every other client that we have deployed the client has managed to auto assign the Site ID to it and they all work as expected. When trying to manually assign the Site ID to the Configuration Manager client on the SCCM server itself it says: Failed to update site assignment I'm stumped as to why this is happening. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
  18. We deploy Google Chrome to clients using AppV and so for the time being will just keep the version of Chrome at 40.
  19. Hi. It was surprisingly ok. We had already introduced DFS about a month before we moved over to the new file server and it would seem that Offline Files had updated itself to use the new path, therefore, it was an easy switch in the end: just changed the folder target on DFS Management. The only issue we did have, were some users had recent documents that pointed directly to \\SERVERNAME\SHARE\ instead of \\DOMAIN.COM\DFS\SHARE and obviously that absolute server path wouldn't have existed. So to summarise, it wasn't nearly as bad as we initially thought. If you can, implement DFS - it really does help save a lot of hassle. Hope this helps.
  20. Just went to my pigeon hole, and there they were. Cheers! @VeryPC
  21. Hello everyone, I am currently in the process of getting my head around pfSense and doing some testing with it before we deploy it onto our network. However, we would like it for external users to access web servers, etc that are behind the pfSense box. I have set this up as: 1). Create a virtual IP on the WAN interface 2). Create a 1:1 NAT Mapping from that WAN address to the Web Server address: External: 1.1.1.1 Internal: 10.0.0.10 3). Create the appropriate Firewall rule This all works as expected. However, squid is running on this box in transparent mode, and although we can access HTTP websites from the web server, we are unable to access HTTPS websites. I appreciate that transparent proxy cannot proxy HTTPS so something is stopping this traffic from going direct when in transparent mode. However, when explicitly defining the proxy settings it all functions as expected. I have narrowed it down to the point where the 1:1 NAT Mapping is created - if I remove this, I can access HTTPS without having to explicitly define any proxy settings. Has anyone else come across this issue? If so, did you manage to solve and how? Many thanks in advance.
  22. Hello everyone, Our SIMS Manager keeps informing us that when she goes to: "Focus" -> "Assessment" -> "Marksheet Entry" it takes ages for it to return the list of the results. Upon further investigation it would appear that just over 5,000 records are being returned. When we have looked through the list, there are assessments dating back to day dot! Is there anyway or archiving these old assessments so that they are not returned in the list? Many thanks in advance.
  23. Never mind - fixed it! Had to use the SIMS Services Manager Helper utility to Grant the appropriate permissions. Once this was done, a green tick appeared next to the school.
  24. Hello everyone, We have just migrated our SIMS server from Server 2008 Enterprise to Server 2012 R2 Standard. As well as this we have also migrated the database from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012. It all seems to be working as expected, however, when we open SIMS Services Manager, and click on the "Schools" link, it has a red "X" symbol next to the school and when you mouse over, it says, "Error connecting". Has anyone got a solution to this? Many thanks in advance.
