If sticking a solar panel on your roof makes money? Maybe they could put solar panels on pylons as well? I'd have thought that, being next door to the backbone would have cost saving benefits.

Have a Thanks to make up.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/t-shaped-electricity-pylon-of-the-future-unveiled.html A thought. Why don't they put mini wind turbines on pylons, some control equipment. Stick the output through a transformer and stuff it straight into the Grid? Ahh the French are ahead of the game it seems.

I had to read that a couple of times.

Try it with the laptop on battery power.

Don't you get Neighbours and Home and Away. Also reruns of Skippy.

I agree, they leave a cligg-hanger end where Glenister's about to be shot and then show a trailer of him alive and well. I guess we knew he wouldn't be shot as there are two episodes to go but even so. I don't trust Poirot!

Does anyone use SIMS to log medical incidents? We currently have a logbook but I'm just updating the list of pupils with medical conditions and it seems to be getting longer! A system that flags up know conditions would be a great help. I may just knock something up in Access.

Amplifier needed for Promethean board

If you have a Freecycle group, put out a wanted Hi Fi system with external phono inputs. I'm using a nice little micro system in an ICT suite that a teacher donated. -

Canon Photocopier - Network Printing
laserblazer replied to Iain.Faulkner's topic in Windows Server 2008
I get this on one of our canon photocopiers but it seems to be because the photocopier has gone into standby and cannot be woken. If I manually turn the photocopier on, it is fine. -
All very nice but does it take photos in Raw.....?
laserblazer replied to mattx's topic in General Chat
A friend didn't believe that my camera would shoot in raw format. So I snapped the wife as she came out of the bathroom and now Trueprint's taking me to court! -
Anyone else not renewing their Uniservity contract?
laserblazer replied to laserblazer's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Excellent answer, thanks. As you so rightly say, all concerned have to be sold on it. Training is all very well providing you have the time and the inclination. The staff here have a pretty full day and simply would not be receptive to something that is going to make their day any longer. One of the things I am resolved on is that we will get together with the other schools in the pyramid and aim for a common platform. -

@idej_jedi what would you recommend? -
I'm still running three updates ago (25) All the latest updates seemed only to address issues with stuff we don't use.

Revamp the Audio Visual in all of the classrooms. Have a standard setup in a nice cabinet that can't be messed around with.

I like watching the old Westerns, especially Randolph Scott. My all time favourite film is Casablanca. I don't know why I bother with a colour TV?

Smartboard - diagnostics: no fault detected, but doesn't work...
laserblazer replied to duncane's topic in Hardware
I had something similar and when I inspected the board closely, I found a very small tear in the surface. The difference was that the light was red. -
