Unless it's a plain paper fax, I think it still has to be photocopied for it to be legal.

I used to service a Mufax fax machine in 1972. It comprised of two units the size small oven. One was a transmitter and one a receiver. They could be connected back to back, which made fault finding a bit easier. The paper had a china clay coating, which was burnt off by a hot stylus revealing the black backing. There was a bit of a smell and they weren't fast.

Have you tried swapping the controller board? It's quite simple to do and if it is that, then it will be a realtively cheap fix.

Once you've cropped do you have to rescale to get it to fit? If so, you may just as well rescale so the bits you don't want fall off the edge.

In Elements 8 it's Edit - scrool down to the Crop control and drag it to the time line. Edit Effects and you can then crop. Depending what you want to do, tale a look at Clip as well.

It was our Open Day today and I've just got home after 13 hours solid! While the wife was getting tea, I tried retuning again and lo and behold, we have all the channels back again. So the Fire Brigade can stand down, I won't be on the roof.

Having just invested in an HD Freeview box, I don't want to change to Freesat but I will if the aerial is too expensive. I might just get up pn the roof and do it myself.

They've been mucking around with the Bromsgrove transmitter again and we lost ITV3, Yesterday and a few others. Funny thing is, the bedroom TV with the loft aerial retuned, whilst the one on the roof, that has virtually line of site to the transmitter won't retune. So I guess I do need to change the aerial. Trouble is. it's a bit higher than I feel comfortable working at, so it's going to cost me.

At least it's better that the alternative
