Hi, Unsure of who is exactly going, as its being ran by Square group. I had been speaking to them about this event and I thought it could be of interest to EduGeek members who had been looking at using iPads within the school environment. They have said they have already got a large audience for this event in the education space, the names and locations of those schools i'm unsure of though, sorry. -

I dont know if it would be of any interest to any of you but we have been speaking with an Apple reseller recently called Square group they have dealt a lot in the education sector and have a history of providing solutions into it. Anyway, they have a forthcoming seminar on the 16th May, this is a very 'pro' iPad event, but could be a chance to hear about the use of iPads from a few different speakers, Ruckus are also attending to speak about ensuring Wi-Fi connectivity. Last week Monte Carlo played host to the Ruckus Wireless Big Dog event, an event attended by Ruckus resellers, to hear the latest news on the Ruckus front and an opportunity for us to feedback what we hear from the field and our customers. As with most things everyone will always have their favourite solution for the job, @SYNACK if you would like to loan some evaluation equipment to put the Ruckus solution through its paces send me a PM and we will look to facilitate this for you. This will provide you a first hand view of what Ruckus can do: In answer to your point "I don't want to be stuck with a 2 year old controller and no updates" Ruckus kit that is supported will generally receive two major updates each year with bug fixes, any EOL kit by law has to have bug fixes for five years after EOL notification. Any kit purchased from now on will not be EOL for many years to come. Hope that answers that for you. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask

This is a press release we blogged about a while ago, that didnt make its way onto Edugeek. Its something Net-Ctrl and @Aggy think is a great example of the capabilites of the Ruckus Wireless solution, so if you have a spare few minutes and fancy a quick read see below for the full report from Ruckus Wireless. Two of London’s premiere exhibition venues, Olympia and Earls Court, who see over 2.2 million visitors come through their doors each year; have replaced their former Aruba Networks system with Ruckus Wireless. The change is in order to address previous shortfalls including poor reliability, performance and scalability problems. Both exhibition halls also noticed the need to provide mobile data offload from the increasingly congested cellular networks. The new Ruckus Wireless systems will provide high speed, dual band (2.4 and 5Ghz) 802.11n Wi-Fi technology, capable of supporting up to 600 Mbps. Both venues have also benefited from 35% fewer access points, whilst delivering extender coverage and up to 10 times the performance they previously experienced. The venues carried out speed testing between the Aruba WLAN and Ruckus solutions, they found Aruba delivered 0.2 Mbps of uplink and downlink performance, compared to 16Mbps uplink and downlink throughput from the Ruckus solution. The stand is looking good, although one day down and the legs feel like they're ready to give up already haha. So far we have lost a desk, a very large cupboard, half our sales floor and half our technical floor thanks to boxes galore all set for BETT, fingers are crossed it all fits.

Net-Ctrl are well into their preperation for next weeks BETT show at Olympia, boxes have taken over the office and we have two members of our team going out to learn how to build our brand new modular stand tomorrow, in the hope they can remember how to do it next week.
