  1. PM received. We will get some information sent through.
  2. We have recently partnered with Bodet, we also work with a company called NEXUS, that is pretty clever. It is a wireless lockdown solution so very low install costs and no need to data cable. They're quick and easy to deploy, you can monitor them using a PC app, they have various alerts, IP66 weather rated. The battery lasts up to 3 years.
  3. Apologies, I only meant that we are very well placed to discuss ballpark pricing with you if you wanted to engage with us.
  4. Hello, We can provide some pricing for your installation - we're a top tier Ruckus partner which gives us access to the highest level of discount from Ruckus. We have been working with them for over 12 years, so know what we're doing. If you have a particular budget we will work with you and Ruckus to put forward the best solution. In addition, we will run FOC predictive surveys and can take it from design to cabling and installation.
  5. Following the interest and success of the last webinar we ran with Ruckus that looked at the ZoneDirector to SmartZone migration we have decided to run a second that will introduce the Ruckus ICX wired portfolio and review the ability to manage both wired and wireless together. The Ruckus ICX Family of fixed form-factor switches works together to simplify network set-up and management, enhance security, minimise troubleshooting and make upgrades easy. They employ a low-latency, non-blocking architecture ensures excellent throughput for the most demanding applications. ICX switches work seamlessly with Ruckus Wi-Fi access points and Ruckus SmartZone network controllers to deliver the most performance and cost-effective unified wired & wireless access solutions on the market today. This is a great webinar for those that have Ruckus and are interested in the co-management of wired/wireless, and for all those that may have wired network upgrade plans in the future and are interested in reviewing what’s available from Ruckus. Titles: Net-Ctrl - ICX Introduction Date: Tuesday, 2 April 2019 Time: 10:00 Duration: 1 hr 10 mins In terms of what will be covered in the ICX webex: • An introduction to the Ruckus ICX L2/L3 switch product family • Benefits of ICX architecture and key features • Future Wi-Fi standards driving the need for multi-gig ports and 802.3at/bt PoE • ICX management with Ruckus SmartZone network controller If you would like to attend, please let me know on this thread or on a PM and I will send through the webinar information.
  6. If you're open to looking at Mobotix IP-CCTV cameras, please let me know and we can assist with project design and we can take care of all the cabling. The Mobotix cameras are more expensive that the likes of Hik, but come with some great functionality that we can show you. You can read about some of this here: https://www.mobotix.com/en/products/software/camera-integrated-video-analysis They are really great cameras and we have a lot of schools/colleges using them.

    CCTV AI

Mobotix have some pretty cool integrated analytics, that can create alerts based on students movements/actions - for example a student walking up to a fire alarm and suddenly turning and running - large crowds building quickly etc - people in forbidden areas in certain times of day - so we're already seeing use cases of this in schools and colleges. More info here: https://www.mobotix.com/en/products/software/camera-integrated-video-analysis
  8. The solution we have installed at other sites is called Redetec. You're welcome to send some photos of the room/equipment and we can review whether there is a deployable solution?
  9. This is exactly why we have found eSafety4schools to be ideal for smaller sites. They use iboss technology, so you know you're getting great technology, but their solution is aimed at the Primary School market.
  10. We would recommend looking at eSafety4schools. They're the iboss specialist for Primary schools. We have used them for a number of our sites who are really happy with their service. It's a perfect solution for smaller counts. If you would like some more information, please let me know
  11. Thank you to all those that attended today's webinar, and to those that have requested the link to access the recording. For anyone else that would like access, please let me know and I will send all the information over.
  12. No problem at all. If you could PM an email address I'll send you the invite and login information. Alternatively, if the time isn't convenient I can send you the recording
  13. Hello, On Wednesday the 20th February at 16:30 we're running a webinar with Palo Alto Networks looking at malware versus exploits that I thought could be of interest to some of you. The session is being run by a Palo engineer who specialises in the EDU sector. He ran a few demos during BETT and we had some great feedback from these sessions. In this webinar we will cover the following: Malware and Exploits explained Why attacks are using both in conjunction with each other How to protect your network See an Exploit in action and its capabilities Exploit Kits and Zero Days You can register here. If the time/date doesnt work, if you register to attend you will be sent a recording of the session. Marketing introduction to the webinar: Today’s threat landscape has evolved to the point where it is no longer feasible to protect devices against Malware alone. It is now necessary to consider the methods used to attack devices in addition to the attack itself. The increase in Exploit-based and fileless attacks alongside rising Zero-Day incidents, means that conventional Anti-Virus is no longer enough to effectively protect against sophisticated attacks. Join Palo Alto Networks for a discussion and demonstration on the differences between Malware and Exploits. You can register here.
  14. If you would find it useful I can send you the recording of the session? It will give you a tour of the SmartZone dash and a comparison of the ZD. You're welcome to join the session as well, but timings may not be convenient.
  15. Whilst under support you are entitled to all firmware upgrades available. The only limitation would be your APs as to whether they support the latest versions. The firmware versions did jump, they went 3.5 - 3.6 - 5.0 - 5.1. I can't quite remember why they missed the numbers inbetween.
  16. Yes, you can, as long as their is only one controller system in place, so either the ZoneDirector or SmartZone. We would then update the DNS entry to point to the relevant location.
  17. Perhaps not. At the moment it would depend what APs you're running and also whether you're having problems with the ZD. The ZD3000 announced End-of-Sale in June last year, this took effect last month. You will however still be eligible for support until 2023 as Ruckus provide 5 years support from EoS announcement. At the moment we have been advised that the last firmware code to be released for this controller will be 10.3, we’re currently on 10.2, and expect to see 10.3 around May/June time. If however you're having problems with your ZoneDirector, or are working on upgrade plans for the next few years it may be of interest. The SmartZone also comes in a virtual appliance which people have liked. If you're interested in finding out more of the differences between the two platforms then it would be worth listening to the content.
  18. Regarding APs the costs are: Management license which is perpetual Support license - this is based on 1, 3 and 5 years - this is renewable. So, if you only ever renewed on a 1 year basis then that cost would be annual, however like most things the more years you buy the cheaper the per annum cost is.
  19. Yes, there are normally incentives available for clients transitioning. Unfortunately, support can't be transferred between platforms - but the incentives tend to be in the form of discounted licenses. For anyone in this situation I would advise speaking with your reseller to do see what can be offered - for those without a dedicated reseller - please feel free to send me a PM and I can look into what can be offered.
  20. Very true Yes, the session will be recorded and I can distribute out to those interested. If you have any specific questions, you can also send them through to me and I will raise them during the session.
  21. On Friday (08th Feb) at 10.00 we’re running a webinar with Ruckus that I thought might be of interest to some of you. It’s going to be looking at the transition from the ZoneDirector to the Smartzone, their current management platform, and looking at some of the latest features. It’s being led by a Ruckus engineer and should be a good introduction into the technology. It’s only going to be 30-45 mins and will have a Q+A session. Even if you dont have a ZoneDirector and are interested in learning a little more about the SmartZone then you may find this worthwhile attending. Please send me a PM if you're interested and I will forward the invite and login details over. Agenda: Why migrate from ZoneDirector to SmartZone controller: - The rise of the SmartZone - ZoneDirector to SmartZone comparison - Delve into SmartZone features - Demo of SmartZone dashboard If you have any questions, please let me know.
