I currently use 10.163.2.x and 10.163.3.x with a subnet mask of 255.255.254.0. My Internet is with Schools Broadband using a cloud based NetSweeper. I am running out of IP addresses. Am I right in thinking that if I try and use IP addresses in, for example, 10.163.4.x and a different subnet mask then it won't work on the Internet as the SchoolsBroadband router can't see them due to its current settings? If I ask SchoolsBroadband to just change the subnet mask in their box to 255.255.0.0, will that stop anything current working and enable me to then play internally and make more IPs available at my leisure or is there more to it than that? Don't know if it's relevant, but I have no VLANs set up. Thank you Stuart

Quicklettertemplate.doc always opens Read-Only. It's in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net". Effective Access says I have full control, and I am an administrator of the computer. What (probably very obvious) bit am I missing please? Stuart

I have an old 3.7v camera battery I'd like to use to power my micro bit. When full I've measured it at 4.1v. I'd rather not fry my micro BIT so 2 things; 1. Can I plug it in to the USB to power it or does that require the full 5v through there? 2. What is physically the smallest way to wind it down to around 3v so I can power it through the GPIOs? I'm thinking of building a new Windows domain. I have an on-site exchange 2010 SP3 server. I'd like an Exchange 2016 server. I'm not going cloud as I don't have the Internet for it. What's the best way of migrating email over? Build the new domain with a new email server in it, have a forest trust, migrate everyone over from the old server in the old domain to the new server in the new domain? Build the new domain with a new email server in it, put the old server in the new domain and migrate everyone from the old server to the new server? Build a new email server in the existing domain, migrate all users to it, then move the new server in to the new domain? None of the above? Thanks Stuart

We started using it in April. No issues. We tend to pretty much ignore it and it sits there and does it's thing. If you can forget it's there, that's a good sign for me. One of my techies has a root around the logs just to check there's nothing untoward in there and she thinks it's pretty good.

Think I've solved it. In C:\Windows\System32\Config is a "Default" file. It was 2GB. I shut the server down, brosed he virtual HD and renamed the file. It's now created a new one of 256kb and all seems well at the moment.......
