  1. At the moment its not even online, we're just looking at the policies and deciding what should be enabled. We won't be launching with audio initially, if at all.... i was just curious to if anybody else used the CCTV audio recording function. I'll leave the Policies to the higher ups and our DPO. I just push buttons once instructed cheers all
  2. This is my point of view exactly. Thanks
  3. Hi all, We're in the process of implementing the Verkarda CCTV solution. This is very feature rich with AI which the pastoral team loves. However it can also record audio..... During the trial we place a camera in a problematic area with signage that clearly stated the CCTV does both Video and Audio. We had a incident where the little darlings had flooded a sink in the toilets. We were able to identity which student had flooded it because he said so to a friend..... "I've just put paper in the sink.....run!" We don't have CCTV in all classrooms, mainly IT suites, Inclusion etc etc. Some staff are welcoming the audio recording feature. Others not so much..... We have a camera on a corridor outside the student toilets..... a high incident area, for damage, vape and the like...... At break, staff are on duty here, and have a chat, maybe decide which SLT member isn't getting a Xmas card this year....... Have any school implemented a CCTV system which records audio? Any issues from unions? What did you add to your CCTV policy. I would have thought that safeguarding would trump this..... But SLT have hinted that maybe the feature will stay disabled, Which would be a shame... SLT are aware that we can enabled audio per camera and that of course is an option. Thoughts?
  4. OMG now you've do it!

If it genuinely is an Azure issue..... maybe Bromcom should consider moving to AWS, because it's going to start costing you customers...... and it it's not a Azure issue and is a Bromcom scaling issue, if you can't resolve it....it's going to start costing you customers........
  6. Turns out only my T550 was affected in the end. BIOS and iDrac updated fine. I installed these by manually downloading the updates. Whats the dell app called that checks for updates. Not the virtual appliance one. The one that works like consumer boards like MSI where it just checks for the latest BIOs and FW? Can't remember what its called. Thought it was in Dell server Manager but couldn't find an updates option. cheers all

  8. 4 of our 5 Physical servers are affected by this. Anybody else implemented the update. Sods law i'll brick it before we return. I was planning to drain roles -- update -- restore roles and repeat. Our 4th server is standalone. 9. Sorry i can't remember what i did. I recall having to do something in CMD.... but i just can't remember sorry
  10. I thought they (Google) would allow the moving of folders to content managers by now..... i thought a custom admin permission would do it but it doesn't seem to work!
  11. Hi all, we don't allow staff to create additional Google Shared Drives. Each dept has a staff and student facing Shared drive. We have an issue where staff are unable to move "Folders" from their My Drive to Shared Drives. My understanding is that they have to be managers. Currently only IT Admins are managers with the department members being Content managers. We have Allow content managers to share folders ticked and Allow managers to modify shared drive settings unticked on the shared drive settings. What permissions do you give your staff? Cheers
  12. Yep you're absolutely right! I've now had a reply from a senior staff members saying: "Sharing of attendance data is statutory from September. So we now have to allow the access." so somebody did know something!
  13. So at the risk of sounding like a fool, what does this sync with the dfe actually do? We've never approved a dfe request as we didn't initiate the sync in the first place. It just appeared one day. Cheers
  14. Anybody else received this request today? Nobody knows anything about it here and as such i won't be approving it...... ...i hate the these random requests come through via Wonde. There needs to be a more official way of 3rd parties being able to request access in the first place! Rant over cheers

  19. We force bitlocker on external drives, staff laptops and anything that isn't connected to the domain. We have a PC that does funky stuff with the DT hardware and the IT tech machines are bit locked also. We don't have it enabled on clients as everything get saved back to the servers...... although the server's aren't bit locked either.
  20. Yay
  21. These bad boys!
  22. "Modified" PC Cases from the early '00s with perspex that scratched when you looked at it pre RGb and cold cathode lighting. You could buy these in a kit for about £40 with case,"900w" PSU, keyboard mouse and speakers. Good times
  23. I tried to use their username as they are unique managed by us and are never reused. However, it only seemed to allow no more than 3 letters. That might have changed now though.
  24. WOW good find, hopefully they will update their documentation for future users.
  25. I would recommend that you disabled or unpatched any unused access ports/sockets. Students like to sick pens in and give them a wiggle and bent contacts which would cause an issue. found a square block of chocolate in one once! We had a old network card (bromcom chip iirc) causing issues due to a incorrect manually installed driver. found it via switch logs, mac addresses and a mixture of DHCP/DNS auditing. unplugged suspect pc and the issue went any, swap tested a usb NIC worked fine, updated driver via official sources on the onboard nic, worked fine after that issue resolved. can all be a real pain, also once found a very small chunk out of a network cable under the leg of a teacher's desk which caused the same issue. Until you find where the issue is originating from, it can be stressful!
