  1. Stick with it, the system once in works really well.
  2. I have used Silicon Alley for a few years now and the customer service is second to none. Very recommended.
  3. Chromecast will not work with enterprise grade wireless. Only for home use I am afraid.
  4. I would love to roll out Google+ but the T&C state no one under 13 can use it which makes it hard to police in a school of 11-18 year olds. Would love them to amend their educational version to 11+
  5. I went with Kemp in the end but may be a little to high however Dell Sonic wall came in at around the price you have.
  6. PMP runs perfectly on 2012 as well as the web interface.
  7. I have outed Movie Maker from my school now as it was getting on a little bit and not as well supported as it once was. I promote the use of Serif products as it does not cost a fortune for a site licence and there is a free basic, home use version for students to carry on with outside of school.
  8. 2 posts and both rude and joined today. Classic do not feed the troll moment.
  9. Looking for new staff laptops and want to make sure I get the perfect solution but have hit the normal minefield of different specs for different vendors so want to ask the community... what would you choose... 5th gen Intel i5 with a 7200rpm hard drive or... 4th gen Intel i5 with a hybrid hard drive Opinions please ladies and gentlemen! (please no approaches from vendors offering to chat to me about specs. I have my vendors in mind thank you)
  10. yes all fine. When you look at the licence.dat in notepad there is indeed an expiry date which was last Friday! They insist on email unless you have a support contract so A-Levels on hold until I hear back! Never liked Creo!
  11. Afternoon, Has anyone encountered Creo 2.0 expiring? Out the blue this has happened to us and their support seem to be behind a pay wall. Not expecting this at all.!
  12. Not played myself but if you get one of those HP cloud printers then an iPad app can print to them. Fairly sure it does all the work for you but does mean a new printer or two.
  13. Morning all, Can anyone recommend a Toshiba repair, authorised third party who is not Topaz or Stone? Thanks
  14. Got the scheduled reports box up but any ideas how to add a report to it?
  15. I looked into a system called clickview a few years back. it was not for me in the end but it sounds like it will do what you want it to do. A lot of people on here seem to use it too.
  16. Do they have any jobs going? Would love to work somewhere a little forward thinking.
  17. Yeah you can set that up but assume you're a primary school if you don't want email.
  18. your passcode will stop any age restricted material and can limit hours of use. You can also customise the homepage / app screen on the xbox however that's pretty much it. Not really meant for preschool children.
  19. I now have another problem. I now have an external SSL for remote.school.etc.uk and if I goto deploy direct access it allows me with that SSL, ONLY if I select one network adapter however I need two (internal and external). As soon as I bring the external network adapter into this, it refuses to see the SSL. Any thoughts into this? Its Friday afternoon, I know little about SSL and want to throw money at this until it goes away. Im happy to pay for another SSL but have no idea what I am asking for and why the second adapter would cause such an issue. I would have thought the SSL proves the location is where it is going to be going too. Thanks all

    Chromebooks...!

Funny because we started with the Samsungs and gasped at how fast they were but now we have the HP and Acers they are old hat with their awful 20 second log on times!
  21. We thought about this and were confident our basic policy was safe and suitable for all students. As soon as they try to elevate their selves, they are fully tracked via lightspeed
  22. We have lightspeed here. All users get our basic student, year 7-11 however if they are blocked they can sign in on the blocked screen and authenticate via their AD credentials. This stops after 15 minutes of inactivity so the next user is safe. I have a lot of sixth form using them and little to no complaints from them so far.
  23. https://www.youtube.com/schools YOu should be able to sign up via a different (master) account for your school here. Been a couple of years since I set it up but think it was problem free.
  24. that's pretty much it. Now just sit back and take the praise in! The best part will come when you make your next group policy and wonder why everything has to be such a pain.
