  1. I use print manager plus here. It does the job and support is quite good.
  2. Chat to your local Ruckus reseller (lots of them about). I wouldn't be surprised if you could negotiate a good deal if you say you are looking around at other wireless vendors as a whole new project.
  3. 8.1 at home, surface and across the entire school. Great OS if you can ignore the goons who say its bad because its cool to do so. Customizing the home screen is a pain in the arse however but with win 10 on its way, I wouldn't worry learning it now.
  4. I never trust Spiceworks. It seems to eager to take license information and assume it sells it on.
  5. after years of trying, I now firmly believe that Windows tosses a virtual coin to see if it will install the printer or not.
  6. Casio projectors all day long for their 5 year warranty and computers from Stone. That is all...
  7. I did an inplace upgrade of 2008 to 2012 with my MIS server and it worked well and fixed many nagging issues I was experiencing. I did use VMWare however and tested it on a snapshot first.
  8. you mean people still install SIMS when Capita release it? As standard I wait a month now because this happens every release for the past 18 months.
  9. I believe it is still the case as our teacher had to jump through various hoops and wait a couple of months for their licence key to arrive... Then the fun of creating an msi for that ungodly installer began..... pain in the a from start to finish.
  10. any good recommendations for cloud vendors?
  11. Im back to work tomorrow after a few days off so will give this ago as well as the other suggestions but like this idea of them showing up on the homepage. Thank you all.
  12. Our admin team are currently rolling more and more out via SLG but the high volume of password resets is becoming quite an issue. It is currently routed through an ISA server however this will be replaced with something in the new year but wonder how you all manage resetting passwords for SLG parents and maybe students as its quite a manual task for us at the moment. I did talk to Capita who were helpful however I got the impression it was a solution tailored just to us and am a little surprised there is not anything more standard. The more cloud based and easy to use the better and am not afraid to spend a little money. If I have to then I will go the capita route when my ISA is replaced but there has to be something better (obviously just not using SLG would be best but out my hands).
  13. I have Ruckus and every installer I have talked to (3.... long story), they were specific you should not have too many AP's in one area. Explain what you require to them in writing and have them tell you where to put them.
  14. As the title says, can you somehow have reports created and maybe emailed to you? Thanks.
  15. Kaspersky on my iMacs here. Seems happy enough.
