Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)
mikeprice replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
I find it is VERY variable - sometime there will be 50% of people with masks - sometimes more like 10% did nip into a local co-op yesterday and I think I was the only person with a mask - OK there were only about 6-7 other people but anyway Having said whih - when I started wearing a mask some people seem to give me more room with is another advantage of wearing one naturally 'some other people' still act like everything is normal 0 and if I am stopped waiting for an aisle to clear they just almost push past!!! -

I went to Tesco today and there were only a few people with a mask (probably 20%) but the time before at least half of the people had a mask - and the age range was different - more older people however, I do tend to find that it is normally non-old people who are most likely to be wearing a mask - lots of clearly old people wander around with no mask and taking up a whole aisle by walking side by side with the trolley at an angle They tend to leave a small gap and look confused when I just stand there and wait for them to move on as I won;t go within 2m of them The people with masks tend to be younger and more aware of what they are supposed to be doing people are weird Oh - and yes - Tesco have given up on the arrows thing - although it generally did work in my local store - I believe that other stores had more of a problem - niece (who is 17 - it's her first job) had the job of trying to make people follow the arrows for a while (along with other staff) - she ended up in tears one day due to the abuse she got from some people in her local store Fortunately the manager took her off to the rest area and got her a drink and made sure she was OK before she went onto the shop floor again in a different area Apparently old staff members, especially men, had less of a problem but older people were not prepared to be advised by a 17 year old female with red hair Personally they are damn lucky she had matured a lot over the last year or so - she would he thumped them a while ago (annoying red haired women can be a brave thing to do - as we know!!) They have also abandoned queues to get in as far as I can see - although they still have cleaning facilities near the door - and hand sanitiser -
I don't want to be pedantic - but that is a shoe - not a foot - the foot is inside the shoe jus' sayin'

A proximity sensor would be grate for Tesco when you stop at the end of a aisle to wait until it clears a bit - and/or the couple who are occupying the whole damn aisle move out of the way - then some idiot comes up behind you and leans over to get $somethingunimportant Is there one on Amazon that comes with a high power laser or extermination ray??? -
Good luck in your new venture - hope it goes well! remember to check in from time to time - there are some 'less techy and serious' areas the 'some people' frequent and you knowledge and experience could still be useful anyway

My Gran wasn't that brilliant a cook if you want proper rice pudding you wanted my Mum's pity she was rubbish at showing people how she cooked things - used lots of phrases like' until it looks right' and 'about so much' then put some more in when I wasn't watching - or able to see how much so all her recipe's died with her so I just make stuff up as I go along until it looks right - whatever that means
-
OK - help me out here Is the sign actually not in use or does the fact that it accurately says it is not in use mean that actually it is in use - its current use being to show that it is not in use if that makes sense

There have been several blue tits around a nesting box in the woods at the bottom of next door's garden - they seem to have been nesting there and the chicks are just learning to fly! bit blurry as they scare easily if I open a window or door so it was taken through a window - and they are at max of the zoom lens -
I'm not 100% sure they all comply with the normal definition of human????

As said before - I know of some schools where most of the kids need to use a school bus to get into school and they are based on areas - not year groups - no coach company will be able to drive round every area of the town to pick up Y7 - then do the same for Y8 etc etc and how would the drivers know what year group a kid is part of Yet another policy that has been thought out in detail over a period of 2 minutes and with full consultation with - a couple of mates - if that anyone who has worked in a school can see holes in this idea that a fleet of busses could drive through in formation I get the feeling that they just want kids back in school - end and if they get infected then the vast majority will be just fine the family - not so much we will probably just have to not see the grandkids for a while after September dunno what will happen to they Mum as she is pregnant -
Personally I used to be a psychic - but I couldn't see any future in it then I lost my job as a maze designer I tried to work in a needle factory - but I didn't see the point for a few days I was a lumberjack - but then I got the axe
