  2. Gripping post mate totally crushed it!!!
  3. Looks good from the adverts
  4. I have been looking at this again When I start as Master - I get a message saying the my-pc-name is now accessing this computer so I'm wondering if this is normal?? and if maybe this is causing the problem - i.e. it is monitoring itself - so it shows its own screen - so the monitor then sees its own screen and so shows it - as infinitum but I can;t see any parameter that might stop this any confirm that this is normal or know of a magic parameter?? TIA Mike
  5. Well - actually I have a DSLR a good lens would be great??? or - as it happens - I have noticed a hole appearing in my last pair of VeryPC socks - so a new pair of socks would also be great
  6. Sympathy for everyone going back this week best wishes for all
  7. If anyone finds me complaining about how badly a duvet folds - just shoot me
  8. to emphasise this bear in mind that EVERYONE would be told to not talk to you at all and the school would be forced to treat the accuser as if they believe them as would the Police because - IF it was real the accuser would be incredibily brave to accuse you and would need that support and lots of people in the past have said they have been abused - and been dismissed But now we KNOW that accusers MAY be truthful - and if they are then they need help and need to believe what they say - becaues they are traumatised But if you are innocent then this still happens - and has to so you NEED someone on your side and that can only be a Union That is what they are there for it may be extremely unlikely that this will ever happen but then you drive a car with airbags - but assume you never need them and you PROBABLY won't but you don't deinstall them - why is that??
  9. Could do - it is just that I started to convert to Veyon at my last school but left before I could finish it - and this was one of the problem I had so it is kinda like unfinished business that annoys me
  10. As I started in schools as a teacher I got the message loud and clear from out tutor at University when doing my PGCE it also helped that the unions were very involved at my second teaching practice school - and the ATL rep my HOD's wife! That was also the main school that I worked in a few schools later! But as far as support staff are concerned - as there is no clear formal education - there is also no clear point where this can be said personally I would like school to push this message every year - at the end of the day it is far less messy for them should an accusation be made - if they can talk through a union, and to a staff member who has some proper support - rather than a staff member that is in shock and may be a jibbering wreck I
  11. Hi all I am using Veyon to view/control computer in the house from my laptop so - very simple setup - no AD or anything like that and only 3 computers to monitor/control View and control work fine if I type in the computer name that I want to connect to but - if I add the computer to the main screen - then right click on it and click on remote view (or control) then I get this looks like it is firing up an infinite number of view sessions but it isn;t - just looks like it I can stop the view session but clicking on 1 exit icon - or just closing 1 window any ideas what is causing this? TIA Mike
  12. After extensive research (I looked on Wikipedia) it seems everyone uses the same weight unless anyone knows different
  13. I thought that errrr no not going there
  14. OK sounds OK that they will realise that non teachers can be part of the Union and respond properly to it any other experiences??
  15. I agree - sometimes I bother to look up the original actual article or research and it is normally a concept of technology that has maybe worked in a lab and someone publishes a paper showing where they are up to - including possible real life lifetimes, recharge cycles etc As it is a scientific paper it includes max and min projections so some journalist takes the maximum and publishes it along with a widely optimistic description of where it is up to - sometimes (if they can be bothered) with an interview with some sort of tech expert. However the 'expert' will only be asked a nebulous question about 'how good would it be if a battery could be developed to do this' - so they answer the question they were asked which the journalist they quotes as if it was a positive description based on detailed knowledge of the actual concept Still - never mind - the Liverpool Echo has an article about whether people from Liverpool want to be called a Scouser or Liverpudlian - and whether they are proud of it or not - for the first time this week so the future of responsible quality journalism is secure
  16. The amount of "information" they sent out - all saying how wonderful the 'new' union was going to be - with not a single word putting an opposing opinion was a clue I feel they were feeling fed up with the NASUWT going on about being the largest teacher union and wanted to get more members and, of course, the fees went up as well - ATL was always cheaper (for teachers) they had to accept the support staff as part of the deal it would be interesting to hear from anyone - as a member of support staff - who has had problems that needed a union - before and after the takeover - sorry - merger
  17. I agree - I liked the ATL the merger felt more like a takeover to me but we shall see
  18. Probably However I won't hold my breath - I have heard about $newbatterytech that is "about to be ready for market" far too many times!
  19. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/50000-rise-in-neu-teachers-union_uk_5f496bf4c5b64f17e13d9401 Just seen this so - union membership seems to have greatly increased since lockdown This worries me WHY are there people who are working in schools - in contact with kids - that are not in a union?? it only needs one kid - maybe now - maybe in 20 years maybe confused maybe landing an event on the wrong person maybe just disturbed and - whatever maybe - $deity knows what but if you work in a school and are in contact with kids then you NEED to be in a union for the rest of your life I thought this message was clear apparently not
  20. Well there could be advantages - the British summer could get warmer and all those excess trees in California and Australia would get eliminated
  21. Well - you say that but if you make enough oily liquid explode each time and attach some flat horizontal thingies on the side then maybe it could???
  22. Clearly total garbage - always difficult to sell recycled nuclear waste - the marketing would be interesting and I do wonder how recycled nuclear waste degrades into totally natural stuff - which I suppose it does - if you include all the elements of the Periodic Table as natural including the ones only ever made in a nuclear rector so - basically - posted on the assumption that people on here would spot the flaws in the concept pretty easily just for fun
  23. Just found this on an ebike forum https://ebiketips.road.cc/content/news/could-this-self-charging-battery-revolutionise-e-bikes-ndbs-nano-diamond-creation-could It seems to be the answer to all our prayers - phone battery that will last a lifetime laptop battery that will outlive the kids ebike battery that will last for years electric cars that never need charging no charging ever needed!!! climate change is solved!!!! if it is true and not all total carp!!!
