WOW - only just found this thread!!! Been doing it for a while now after finding out about it from a news website normally get it in 4 or 5 - sometimes 3 only failed once so far! - it was one of those where I had one letter left but loads of possible solutions! Mrs mikeprice does it sometimes - and 'isn't competitive at all" but as she has a degree in History and English Literature - and you all know my spelling and such - she normally beats me (Oh - I won yesterday!!!)

Cost of living crisis 2022 - what have you cut back on?
mikeprice replied to Ditto's topic in General Chat
We are looking at getting solar panels so we are a bit protected from future prices rises seems to be a bit of a problem at the moment as all the companies seem to be very busy and so don;t respond when you ask them questions. One of our problems is increased petrol usage due to babysitting once a week - which it 2 30 minutes trips up the motorway. It all adds up - especially as we get back after tea time so often end up getting a takeaway -
On another note I just found out that Elon Musk is paying $44 billion for Twitter and I thought he was clever WHAT a sucker!! I just downloaded it for free!!!

God - Noah, it's time to build another boat. Noah - Oh, so soon! But hey, you are the boss. So the same, animals, two by two etc? God - Actually no. We forgot the fish last time so this time this will be just for the fish. Also, build it with more than one deck. Noah - Big boat, only fish and several levels. Got it boss! God - And another thing, not just any fish. I want only Carp on the new boat. Noah - So, let me get this right God. You want a "Multi Storey Carp Ark!"

Go on - what is the most energy intensive - spinning??? In our case we are quite lucky to be on a fixed tariff until September 2024 - more by luck than management but I have started driving based on when the computer says to change gear rather than doing when I feel I should seems to have increased the mpg by 5-10 in normal use - which is a lot more than I expected I have also replaced some halogen bulbs with LED ones when they blow - actually give a better light in the kitchen! Oh - and we replaced the outside flood lights with solar powered ones - a bit dimmer but work really well - that one replaced 2 400W bulbs with solar powered LEDs that cost nothing when in use! I am also trying to use my bike for shopping rather than take the car - but I probably would anyway -

Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)
mikeprice replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
Just listening to BBC news and there are 9 new symptons advise seems to be that if you have some of the symptoms AND a temperature or fell so unwell as to be unable to go to work - then you should behave as if you have Covid and isolate better than the articles I saw this morning I wish the papers would report it properly and not just give edited highlights!!! -
Still reading Wheel of Time I don;t read as much when I'm at home and I've tried a few other things - nothing special but I'm back on WoT again currently up to 43% after only a year or so!!!

I noticed a new list of possible symptons today blocked nose, headache and diarrhoea Great - start of the hayfever season so I normally have 2 out of those did a test anyway and it was negative but it seems like almost anything can be a symptom. I suppose you just have to suppose you might have it if you have more than an unspecified number of them -
everyone is welcome p.e. there are 'other' threads as well - some are reputed to contain jokes

Walked into the kitchen before and I could have sworn I could hear someone singing Bee Gee songs looked everywhere finally open the fridge door and realised it was just the chives talking

Evidence has been found that William Tell and his family were avid cricketers. Unfortunately, all the Swiss League records were destroyed in a fire and so we'll never know for whom the Tells bowled.

I am still wearing a mask in public indoor spaces but I am more and more in a minority although I have noticed that no-one seems to give me any funny looks or comments as some people have said on 'other forums' and in 'some newspapers' or maybe I just ignore people and totally miss what they are thinking? -
Sounds rather threatening - like something from 1984 or such like

I have just got a quote for solar panels - local(ish) firm whose first item on their website is repairs to green systems of all kinds they seem pretty good - but I'll check a few more quotes - if anyone responds to my requests as so far I have not got much back!

Things that could have been improved before being approved...

I can't see the problem every sink has a plug OK OK OK - someone had to say it -
OK - a bit late to this thread But I had all mine done by 9 a.m. - I think that was 'new time' even the car that I normally forget because it is often behind the satnav now I just have to sneak into sister-in-law's kitchen and change hers without being noticed I set it to the right time a few months ago and I don;t think she has noticed yet She has 3 kids and a husband - all the kids have a partner - and it seems I am the only one that can change a kitchen clock - but they don't want me to so I have to sneak in or at some point I am going to end up having a cuppa in her kitchen and see the clock is wrong and it will spoil my whole day
