Is it not helpful for the teachers to be able to install software? Surely with good AV and other protection it should be fine? Do we really need to be preventing the odd bit of occasional other use by teacher's kids? Is that likely to do any harm? A happier workforce is a more productive workforce, no? Just playing devils advocate.

We run the HiKCentral Professional Control Software on one of our Windows Servers, we took the decision to install it on one of our existing APP servers - seemed to make sense. Each month when we reboot for MS patches we have issues getting the software to kick back in to life! We've had licence information being lost and services look like they've started but the software only work if we restart them all again! HiKVision have asked if we can install their software on a designated server!! Comments?

Our TEAMS is locked down so students cannot use it for anything other than structured lessons initiated from our staff. Now we're being asked to allow students to take TEAMS calls from outside the organisation for things like interviews. Currently I'm just getting staff to supervise them and use the staff logon, how are other school's managing yet another twist in the tale?

I hope it is an actual thing. Golf is completely safe. Would be illogical that you can meet a friend and walk around the golf course 2m apart but you could n't meet the same friend and walk around the course many metres apart!
