No you don't need to map the drive. Just add credentials and the machine can access the folder to launch the client:

Ah yeah the Inventry share problem. We hit that too when MS deprecated accessing a folder on a workgroup machine as guest as while ago. Is this just to launch the client? Best I came up with was to add an entry into the windows credentials list for the Inventry machine's shared folder using the machines local username and password. The client can then launch.

Yeah having the exact same problem. Spent loads of time on this with no resolution but see that others are having the same issue. Looking a Google results seems to indicate that this has happened in the past and the next update seems ok so I’m going to leave it until 1911 is out and see what happens then. Fingers crossed eh?

@ictgoodpractice May I ask what the issues are with the server that is making you want to replace? If you do want to replace then, personally, I would work with a trusted company to design a suitable system for your requirements. In the past I had worked with both @Haptic and @VeryPC to design a suitable servers for primaries and there are plenty of other trusted companies on here that get recommended (eg @ICTDirect_Dave and Stone), and others that people can add to.

Um, MS haven’t abandoned WSUS. You’ve posted this a couple of times and I can’t see any evidence to back it up? Also Update Compliance is not a replacement for WSUS, it monitors and reports on your update status but you still need to get the updates on the machine in the first place. How are you managing that?

I am wondering if the GUI isn't reporting the updated cache size and clicking 'configure settings' refreshes it? Grab a machine that is reporting the incorrect cache size and check the actual cache size using powershell: https://www.prajwaldesai.com/get-configuration-manager-client-cache-size-using-powershell/ Basically in an admin sessions enter: Get-WmiObject -Namespace ROOT\CCM\SoftMgmtAgent Then type in "CacheConfig" as the class it asks for Check and see if the reported cache size is correct.

How long are you leaving it between making the change and checking the devices? The clients will need to download the machine policy again to pick up the changes. Have the machines refreshed the policy since you made the change?

@SysprepMe IT WORKS! It actually works. 365 v1910 activates with DBA using that version of OPPTransition!! Thanks so much for that. Did MS Support give you that version? Its interesting as the version you linked is v1.1.15.106 whereas the latest version available from http://aka.ms/OfficeDbaClient is v1.1.12.19 (which doesn't work). In fact the 1.1.15.106 version informs you that an 'updated' version is available to download (1.1.12.19!!) I guess that all our issues are down to MS not updating the download to the current version.
