  1. mrs_sparkeh chose Ocean’s 8 the other night. I enjoyed it but thought the heist was unnecessarily complicated which kinda annoyed me a bit. Also the “best in the business” guards protecting the necklace that was the target appeared to be complete blockheads. [emoji23] We also watched “Breaking In” which was a treat from start to finish. Would recommend to anyone!
  2. Used Konica a lot and currently have a couple of hundred MFDs across several sites and approx 3000 users and the load is heavy. Devices don’t miss a beat and give us little trouble. Support has been excellent if needed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
  3. Should be, but if you’ve ever experienced PNC or Home Office IT you’re confidence in that statement might drop [emoji23]
  4. If you are using Autopilot then you need it to join the device to the domain. If not then you don’t need it.
  5. I’ve always found this to be a bit flakey. After upgrades I used to just run a script that deleted it.
  6. Oh didn’t realise it had been cancelled. Been enjoying the last series ☹️
  7. Agree with @robk LAPS is really what you need. But if that’s not an option could you use group policy to set local admins? https://thesysadminchannel.com/add-local-administrators-via-gpo-group-policy/
  8. Solarwinds, luckily we are way behind on patching...
  9. My kids are into making up jokes at the moment: “What do you need to open a monk lock?” “A monkey” I did laugh a long time at that:
  10. @_techie_ sounds to me like you have have things setup the way that works for your site and (as much as I love SCCM, and I do!) chucking sccm into the mix would be a fair amount of work and, perhaps, marginal benefit. Also, the direction of travel for MS is to push Intune as their tool of choice so, for my money, if you want to look at anything, that would probably be a better long term bet.
  11. I enjoyed old guard too. Set up for a sequel which I hope they make.
  12. I’m in!! [emoji3]
  13. Walked straight into Liam Gallagher on Oxford Street, he told me to #!*% off! Sat next to Richard Herring at a Pub Landlord gig. He was making notes for the TV series and had a little light clipped to a notepad. Really annoyed me. Had to ask Jeremy Beadle to move his table for a book signing at WHSmith because it was blocking the stairs. He looked sad. Had to get education pseudo celebrity Pie Corbin’s laptop working for a training course at a school I worked at. He was a bit of a #*!$ about it. My wife’s half sister is Kate Long author of The Bad Mother’s Handbook. My favourite is when my wife asked Paul Gambacinni to stop dithering in the doorway of a restaurant we were trying to get into and he was searching through his pockets.
  14. This times a million. Absolutely bonkers and we were hooked. Just starting latest series of Curb with is as good as ever.
  15. I still wouldn’t touch zoom with a barge pole https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/apr/02/zoom-technology-security-coronavirus-video-conferencing?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Any one of the points listed would stop me using it.
  16. Whilst I totally agree, I was really referring to how quickly Zoom changed their practices. [emoji23]
  17. @Arthur that was quick [emoji3]
  18. You may want to read about zoom sharing data with Facebook. https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/video-calling-app-zooms-ios-version-is-sharing-user-data-with-facebook
  19. Way ahead of you [emoji6]
  20. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2020/mar/05/contacts-of-1m-virgin-media-customers-left-on-unsecured-database Anyone else get their emails today? :/
  21. Teaching programming isn’t about jumping in the latest language du jour. You need to give learners a sound foundation in the fundamentals of programming and some languages are better suited to start learning with. There’s nothing wrong with using an older language to give them that solid base. Languages fall in and out of fashion but the basics stay the same.
  22. Odd, that process does nothing here?!
